"Why...so...serious?"

As stated in the WIP thread, every now and then I like to do a bad guy and use them for special scenarios, objectives, etc. Given how smitten I am by a recent movie, when a break in my schedule came up, I couldn't resist.

Anyway, he was fun to think about and conceptualize. I doubt this will be the last time that I model him. After looking at how broad the figure is across the chest, I'm not too thrilled with the overall physique. I would like to have him be a little taller and a little thinner. I did bring in the arms in closer to the neck so that the shoulders wouldn't be too broad, but it's pretty clear I needed to do more in this area as he still has the chest of a bear.

Anyway, I hope you like him, he was a fun little exercise. In an Apoc game, I'll most likely run him with Eldrad rules as I'd like him to be a nasty piece of work without being an obvious target.

Some of the photos aren't that great, but you get the idea

hahahahaha well done

Great idea :)

only thing i would like to say that it might have made more sense if the model was a csm, as when i see the joker i think of pure anarchy, and well i figure CSM would fit better with the idea of a joker in their army than a loyaist army. But anyway, great job!!!!

Cheers

Danny

The only thing that's getting me is the hair. It's actually a bright, yet dirty, green, rather than straight-up brown.

Interesting comment. I'm not sure that I see the same thing.

The hair was done thusly:

1. Black basecoat

2. Charadon Granite (Foundation)

3. CG + Graveyard Earth mixes to straight GE highlights

4. Devlan Mud to give it that "oily" look you sort of see in the movie

5. Then go back over certain areas with thinned GE to build up some highlights

Well, he would never end up in a loyalist army, more of a random event sort of thing or maybe a radical Inquisitor sort of character. But I see where you are coming from and he would have looked very interesting in darker armor with some Chaos arrows. I'll have to think about how I might do that for the next rendition.

Anyway, thanx for the comments!

Heath Ledger's Joker. It's pretty green, if you ask me. Unless you're talking about your paint job, in which case it might be the photo. Still, no worries.

Ok, I'm following you now. I looked a lot of different photos of HL and his hair just looked "greasy" to me, not necessarily green. I did consider giving him a green 'do though.

Hey Awesome,

You were right!

The family and I watched "The Dark Knight" last night and I was studying the Joker quite carefully. And ya know what? He's got green hair. :o I don't know how I missed that the first few times around...well, maybe I do. Every time I watch the movie I get even more impressed with HLs acting.

Anyway, after looking at him a bit closer, it is clear that he still has rather greasy hair, which accounts for the brownish I was seeing, but the longer lengths are definitely green. Good eyes you've got.

Soooo...I guess I'm going back and adding some green highlights to his hair.

Nice looking figure there Honda.

Of note. In order ot make him seem skinnier, two things you could have done.

One, trim around where the arms attach to the torso, literally shave it done some and it will make a huge difference.

Second, cut off the greaves above the knee, extend it maybe 2 or 3 mm and it will look right. This is more in line with the true scale marines, but should be a simple thing given the cloak he has.

Anyhoo, I like it quite a bit. I hope to see more exercises in trying out new things.
