muzzyman1981
Do you need permission to use Special Characters? I've looked in the Special Characters section of the BRB, I've searched the forums, I've asked a bunch of people, and so far no answer. I thought I heard something about not needing to ask permission to use Special Characters in games now, although of course I may be wrong. Frogstaff
You only need permission if the character's rule explicitly says so. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163639-special-characters/#findComment-1923773 Share on other sites
muzzyman1981
I thought they changed that in the new rulebook though, that's why I ask. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163639-special-characters/#findComment-1923775 Share on other sites
Isiah
Just to note: sometimes this answer isn't so simple – I have heard of tournaments (though never played in one) where all special/named characters were banned. Yep even now in 5th edition – leaving the level playing field of generic characters only. Anyway as far as the BRB goes the question has been answered. waaanial00
Ok sorry to thread snatch but it is kind of on the same level. With all our counts as special characters what happens when both of them are on the field at the same time? They have in their profile that they are Unique. Does this mean that they are both removed as casualties if they meet across the field from each other? To the OP it used to be that you had to get permission to use them in the 4th Edition rules however they seem to have been relaxed. It is a bit of a chicken and egg situation of which has led to which but the relaxation has lead to or been caused by the fact that the new SC's do much more to the composition of the new forces (Orks and Marines so far but IG might also be the same). JamesI
All the rules say (at least in the codexes I have) is that each army can only contain 1 of a unique character. So a Shrike army against a Shrike army is fine. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163639-special-characters/#findComment-1924336 Share on other sites
