Space Wolf Bondsmen.

How would you model our bondsmen, i.e. the normal humans manning our ships, keeping everything in good order and most importantly, BREWING OUR ALE!!!

I would model them by using heads and bodies from the Chaos marauders, as well as Catatchan arms and heads. Remove any Chaos stuff and add greenstuffed fur here and there, creating vikings armed with lasguns. By the way, anyone who know a site that sells bits seperately?

Nope... bondsmen are SW version of chapter surfs.

And as far as that goes I added some wolfy bits to a standard cadian kaskrin set... as I wanted to use the inquisitorial stormtroopers for their rules base.

EDIT: as for bitz... theres always ebay, and bitkingdom.

Actually no, Imperial Fleet crews come nowhere near SW ships. Failed aspirants can be turned into Thralls but they also serve as Bondsman to the Space Wolves. The SW novels in particular explain quite a bit about this. Many Bondsman have been in service to the Space Wolves for generations, often the descendants of failed aspirants but also drawn from the population of Fenris deemed usefull to the Chapter. Technicians, artificers, gun crews, ship crews and so forth are all Bondsman. Additionally the Bondsman are actually highly trained and all well armed.

Normal Imperial Ships are crewed by enslaved Press Gangs or Imperial Criminals chained to their stations, the ships themselves dark, dirty and decrepit with ratings populating the lesser used decks and a general air of oppression and staleness. Space Wolves ships are completely different, brightly lit, clean and crewed entirely by elite and armed Bondsman crews. In battle when faced with an enemy boarding it is the Bondsman who will defend their ship while the Space Wolves themselves launch a counter boarding assault.
