The Start of a New Era.

At the start of the second founding the IRON HANDS chapter split into is Codex formations. Reeling from the death of their Primarch, the Chapters that where formed by the split were small in size and utterly loyal to the God Emperor. The Silver Skulls was one of the four known chapters to have descended from the Iron hands. Lead by the 4th company Captain, the silver skulls made their home on the edge of the Mordate zone, as far away from the Imperium as possible. Many questioned the chapters motives however it soon became apparent that the chapter has no desire to stay put and within a year the silver skull fleet was scene all over the galaxy. The Chapter only returned to their home world at the end of each ‘Halubarg’ the day that their Primarch fell at the Isstvan Drop Site Massacre. The Chapter was put under watch of the Ordo Hereticus after The Silver Skull abandoned the human forces on Armageddon to return home for their ‘Halubarg’. However no traitors were found within the Chapter and the Inquisitorial battle barge never made it back to Terra, suffering sustained attack by Ork forces. The Ork Whaargh lead by Warlord Kraz-Gob, stormed through the Mordate Zone destroying all local Imperial Guard forces in the area. However the Ork did what all Orks do, charging in without thinking, the Silver skull have enough man power to retake and defend all the planets in the sector and did so with extreme prejudice. Each company holds a planet as the 1st and 2nd company follow the Warlord and try to prevent him from destroying more. Each company holds its ground with minimal casualties however the 1st and 2nd companies where not so lucky. Kraz-Gob turns back toward the Mordate Zone and after several days of space battles and boarding actions the whole of the first two companies of the Silver Skulls Chapter are wiped out. Kraz-Gob returns to the Mordate zone striking back at the first planet he finds, Iervation II, Guarded closely by the 7th company.
