Krieghammer
So this is my recently finished Brother Captain! As you can all see i have used the standard BC model for him so there is acctually nothing so very speciall about him but I thought id share it with you all anyway! the man http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/Fanatichammer/Warhammer042.jpg and with a couple of his dudes.. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/Fanatichammer/Warhammer102.jpg Im no moster at painting, but i like how this one turned out.. and the pic does not do him any justice, imo hes better "live"! DinoDoc
I like the blade effects. I wish I could do that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163868-brother-captain/#findComment-1926272 Share on other sites
Thaelion Hexis
I like the blade effects. I wish I could do that. I concur, the blades are excellent. The armour has a certain antiquated feel to it, something of a relic. I like it. Aidoneus
The model as a whole is pretty good, but that blade is just beautiful! Any chance you could explain your method? Bulgrim
Good work Krieghammer! Nice contrasting colours and antique armour. Really nice deep blue blades. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163868-brother-captain/#findComment-1926654 Share on other sites
Krieghammer
Thanks very much for the replies! and yea i am really satisfied with how the blades turned out too! Im goint to show my "home-made" way of painting them, its really easy to do haha and the results are relatively good ;) So the first thing you need is to possess the following four Citadel Colours; Chaos Black, Ice Blue, Skull White, Blue Ink And so im going to apply these on a standard Nemesis Force Halberd, but this can be done on any and all blades.. Firstly i basecoat the whole thing black http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/Fanatichammer/KopiaavDSC05710.jpg And then on top of that basecoat I apply a thick layer of Ice blue, just to cover up the area. Then i add stripes of Skull White on top of the Ice blue, these are going to be the sparks or lightning or whatever on the weapon, just to look cool! these can be applied pretty much randomly, but i usually draw some stripes among the edges of te blade and some inbetween.. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/Fanatichammer/KopiaavDSC05711.jpg After that is where the Blue Inc comes in handy, and you could just dipp the whole blade in it if you want to haha.. no, I but i just paint a thick layer of Blue Ink on the surface of the blade (not watered down or anything), and just let it dry! http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo355/Fanatichammer/KopiaavDSC05714.jpg (some light is reflected on the shiny surface of the Ink, thus not showing the exact scale of blue.. but you get the point) Hope this will be of some use for you, and thanks for reading my first turotial ever  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163868-brother-captain/#findComment-1926864 Share on other sites
Grand Master Tchezzarus
You may not be a painting monster (me neither...), but that's a good tabletop standard BC you've got here! I think that you could easily improve him a bit further by adding some "writing" to the scrolls (and as soon as you've pick a name, by "properly" writing it on his left shoulderpad), and drilling+painting the inside of his psycanon. Just my 2 cents, Tchezz. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163868-brother-captain/#findComment-1928130 Share on other sites
