Also be aware that most DE players will have Shadow Fields on their transports that reduce range to hit them by 6". Several times I have tried to hit them with my vindicator and my range was reduced to 18" and I would miss...

Good Luck - the only army I really respect so far is DE (especially against a good player)

Wena

You got it almost right,it doesn't reduce youre range it counts as being 6" further away. (wich does wonders against Rapid Fire bolters)

And i hear the OP mentioning a Warrior heavy DE army so i think he goes with 6x 10 warriors each with 2 Dark Lances (thats 12 of those things) for only 600 points.

This might not be good tips but they may help

*Dont charge at them stand yor ground let them come to you shoot them and put your gunners first , you can move them back beind you mele if needed

and a realy helpful tip is to NOT PANIC no matter what dont move all your troops back in a panic and keep a streght face

make a death or glory ONLY if you ABSLUOTLEY POSITIVELIERINGLY need to

:tu: < make sure the red x is them

and good luck with you fight

Nice use of Emoticon Star Avenger *passes ale to you* ;)

So it'll be this week that I'm going to face them, and I'll try my luck with the list I've already got. Here's to me winning *sacrifices a goat to Russ, the Emperor, and the Dice Gods*

;)

The Wyches do that. They half the WS of the unit they are attacking as long as the unit is S6 or less. It only counts when the unit is attacking the Wyches, not when the Wyches attack back. People will argue that but the DE player should know this because it has been FAQ'd. They will also negate any bonus attack you get for having a close combat weapon and receive a 4+ invuln in close combat. Depending on what they roll for their combat drugs they can be a thorn in your side. The combat drugs are rolled at the beginning of the game and can give them +1 to their strength, WS or attacks, Always Strike first, another one that basically makes them fearless and 12" assault.

They will hang with anything in CC minus a Nightbringer. They typically wont decimate units but will stay around long enough with their 4+ invuln to whittle them down.

Best way to deal with Wyches is to shoot them because their save is normally a 6+ and will fall easily unless they are in a transport which should be dealt with quickly.

I met them recently, they were followed by some CC monsters that had realy anoying version of FNP. They managed to kill like 6 Seraphims, Canoness, DCA, Eversor and remnants of my Retrobutor squad. In a Apocalypse match. I finished them up with BCs led by Ragnar.

Sorry for the Threadomancy *beats Elite ThreadLich back with +6 Vorpal Exterminatussock*, but I have some news on my 40k game: It's not gonna happen.

For discussion sake, let's call the Dark Eldar player Joe. Well, the Friday night, before the CoD game and a D&D game we were both going to be in, Joe, for reasons unknown, left town for Maryland. I BS you not, he actually left the state at midnight. So I won't be playing Dark Eldar anytime soon (he's not answering calls or nothing) nor will we be having a Longtooth Shifter predator Druid in our level 8 campaign.

I think bran just chased him out of the store, flailing the exterminatussock, shrieking like a 12 yr old girl....and the dude didnt stop running to maryland <_<

On a more serious note, i wonder if this is an affliction of gamers. I knew a guy that up and packed up one night from Wisconsin to California. Good guy to play with, sat there and painted an epic Legolas while i got a battle box of SW done for an Iron Man competition, and two days later (one of those being pure sleep after the IM), he up and split.

Note that witches "can" under the right situation, charge further then anything else in the game. 12" raider move +2" deployment out the front +6" run, and with the right drugs, 12" charge. That's 32" worth of quick strike, so yes they can and probably will charge you first turn if everything goes their way.

You know what you must do now, Bran.

Hunt him down and play your match.

Honor must be satisfied, blood must be spilt. (though whether it's yours or his, is to be seen)

Or, thank your lucky stars you don't have to play against Dark Eldar. Either way, win-win.

Nice one Ryzouken. Nice.

Sorry to hear that bran.... I had a guy do that to me once, problem was I was moving myself, back from denver, and he had 5k pts of my eldar on him as he went to flordia! ;) It took me a year to find out who he gave them to and get them back from the bastard.

And THAT, Bran... is why you can never trust those Longtooth Shifters.

But I use them for all my pseudo-Space Wolf characters... (that and as my friends put it, to appease my werewolf fetish) . I guess I'll let him go, seeing as I don't feel like spending all week and vacation next week hunting down the no-good zoggin' git...

Dakka the vehicles, then the wyches/incubi. Kill warriors in combat. As a note, if you had some GK's to hand, psycannons are epic against the 2+ invuln 4+ armour, because it ignore them both and instakills HQ's for DE ;) ;)

erm, do we still need to sling anti DE tactics in here if the OP's not playing against them anymore?

Maybe we should let this one fade to obscurity. If we do need an actual tactica for fighting against DE, perhaps a dedicated thread that can then be stickied could be made.
