Grey Mage
So Im curious, I recently stripped my Wolf Priest to repaint him to my current standards *I do this every few years as I started young* and Im considering what color to paint his armor- SW normal or Black like a chaplain. Thoughts? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164096-wolf-priest/ Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
Our Wolf Priests wear black armour. Not only because they are our counterpart to the ´nilla chaplain but they´re the one who take the fallen heroes from the battlefield of the tribes and bring them to Asaheim to become SW. Combat_Vet
Greets, It is most common to give a priest black armor. I'd say 95% of them are painted that way. I'm not sure it's required though. When I paint Space Wolves I give the Wolf Priest solid black armor. It helps to make him stand out in a sea of gray :( But, I have to think that I read that only a portion of the armor is painted black. Some of my armies had the upper half of the model black, some have one side painted, and my grey knights only painted the right arm black. It allows more variety in the army. It's up to you really. It's just a thought and I could be wrong. Better days, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164096-wolf-priest/#findComment-1929302 Share on other sites

Ullr Direfang
i have seen some interesting things in my time playing. like has been said most are just black with gold trim. but i have see people just paint shoulders, elbows, knees, and feet black. or one guy left the shoulder pads the normal colors and painted the rest black. i have thought about painting some of my normal grey hunters and bloodclaws with a black/yellow(or runes) arm or shoulder pad to signify that the priests are watching them to see if they can join the ranks of that priesthood... and i figure if one got accepted during a campaign that they would get to change their armor over yet. just i thought i have that might help in some way... Grimtooth
In my 13th, the only model not black is my wolf priest. He went to chapter colors to signify a beacon of the past while stuck in the warp. Moral of the story? Paint him whatever color you want and add some fluff/storyline to back it up.
