Brother Mord Posted March 25, 2009 Share Posted March 25, 2009 I have just started redoing an old DIY army into Imperial Fists (Stripping the paint and repainting) I only have one squad done so far. They are a little shiny because I went a little heavy with the overcoat spray. I used the yellow foundation paint (cant remember the name), the Gryphonne sepia for shading the resessed areas followed by a light coat of golden yellow over the foundation yellow. I am only aiming for a decent table top quality so there are better painting styles from others Im sure. Its a nice change to paint yellow instead of the black and white of my Templars Oh and I used the foundation red followed by blood red on the chest eagles. I have found a better result with my second squad Im doing by washing the foundation red with the sepia or flesh wash before drybrushing the blood red over it. These guys are done as second company so I just kept the yellow trim on the shoulder pads. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Pig Of Sparta Posted March 25, 2009 Share Posted March 25, 2009 If you prefer a darker colour check out this tutorial: Imperial Fists Painting Guide by Chaos Bunny Studios It lists all the paints you'll need, and is fiarly easy to achive. I used it for my Fists Scout Sarge that I just posted, but substituted Skull whit for Bleached Bone as I'm running really low on it just now. How did you do those fantastic bases? :( I mostly use the techniques described in this tutorial, and add in the occasional aquarium plants or twigs for more visual interest. The bullet impacts in the water were done by stretching some cheap hobby glue while it dried (basically you WANT the kind of glue that leaves strings of glue all over the place for this).
