Iron-Daemon Forge
Hi everone First all for those who have not seen my tournament reports in the pass. I have a few simple request As per usely - Please do NOT post anything negative about the tournament sence, army list or anything else. I post these report as somthing to look back that, show friends, etc.... last thing I want is negative comment. So please use your commen sence, don't like it/list/or just going to post negative don't post as it really is rude I also do not belive in cheesy or beardy armies (IMO a lot of the argument are by bad losser), I belive that as long as a army by the codex/rule book that all that matter, as end of the day it there army, there money. As long as a player is not a git, then I am happy to fight any army as all prove a good challenge. So please do NOT bring any of this up. I find tournament a good laught, meet new & old friends alike, most importantly battle new games. These report are also to show friends & those from the event, so as said would be happy to have no negative remark/post. Now onto the story First up my Army list Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company HQ Warsmith Abhorred Riddick (Daemon Prince), Wings - 130 Elites Squad 7: Tormentia, 4x Termies arm with Power Weapon & combi Plasma - 140 Squad 8: Proeliator 4x Termies arm with Power Weapon & Combi Plasma - 140 Troops Squad 1: Iupatus Proeliator 9 Chaos Space Marines, Plasma Gun, Heavy Bolter, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Squad 2: Be Graphicus 9 Chaos Space Marines, Plasma Gun, Heavy Bolter, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Squad 3: Apocalypse 9 Chaos Space Marines, Melta Gun, Heavy Bolter, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Heavy Support: Squad 5: Excessus Fillius 2 Oblits - 150 Squad 4: Oburo 1 Oblit - 75 Squad 6: Hydra Infensus 1 Oblit - 75 Total 1500 points Kill points 12 HQ - 130 Elites - 280 Troops - 790 Fast Attack - haha where Iron Warriors what use are they to us ;) Heavy Support: 300 43 Models 3 Tanks So to start the story. - Games where sorted with a mission & what set up they would use from the 5th Ed rule book. - People could re-roll some dice (well say you fire 10 Bolter & wanted to re-roll, had to be all them even if they hit) for £1, but this was for a good cause as the money was going toward charity, I think £30 in total was given, £6 of that from me (though it did not help me much with the re-roll hahaha but who care, money helping a good cause end of the day) Conpulsion The tournament was ran by the ELG wargaming club in Edinbrugh, they where invited by a RPG evnet know as Conpulsion with the hope I belive to run a few more tournament with Conpulsion in the future. Chaos gods & there fickle omen It seem before this event the chaos gods sent me a few wired omen's which led to a great day - Just getting in the train this morning.... it seem I will usely get one or two gits when I travel to my local GW/tournaments. Well today I got the best of them, a family of Neds (Chav to our English members). It the usely one mum & four out of control kids :) The mum argue with anyone who spoke out about the behavoiur (sp) of her kids. Luck they get off the next stop. Just Neds/Chav are scum of the earth in the UK & that me putting it nicely since this is a family friendly fourm. - My friend Ian (fought that 40k Radio & Rapid fire, he also came 1st that the UKGT heat 3) train was dely by a bit (10-15mins), but it all work out. - The people who ran Conpulsion did not have my name on there list even though I pre-pay. Apperntly people got e-mail with there ticket :) I had to spend 20 min when I enter going from table to table back & forth trying to sort this out only for each time to be told "go to that table" being point to the one that already told me to see this table. Finial got up stair but had to talk to Andy head of ELG which he got everthing sorted for me in the end :D (thanks Andy) But with all this, it seem to be a good omen  But once thing settle..... here the battle report Round 1: Battle of the gods Oppent: Ian Army: Black Legion, Ian list has a Warp Time Daemon Prince with mark of Nurgle, Khârn, unit of Bezerker, Land Raider, 5 Chaos Marines with Flamer?, 2 unit of Nurgle Marines with two specil weapon & champ arm with power weapon/fist between the two squads. Also two Rhinos for the Nurgle Marines. Unit of 4 Termies with Combi Plasma & 1 power first & 2 Obliterators Mission: Was the d3+2 loot counters & I belive Pitch Battle 12 inch deplyment Win for me Me & Ian have been battling it out in 40k Radio World Wide war tournament with his Slannesh, then my wargaming club Rapid Fire with his Black Legion. Since then me & Ian have battle now & then that my wargaming club. Each & ever single battle was bloody Thing I can remember from the game - Battle of the Daemon Prince, by turn 2 our Daemon Prince where battling it out, came to turn 4 when both our Daemon Prince fell to the warp after wounding each other. - One unit of Obliterators of mine where the slowest all game rolling nothing but double 1's for movment  - Khârn over heated his Plasma Pistol, but he did not need it after charging into a unit of mine & slaughter them down to a Champion who failed his Ld & got over-ran. But Khârn was later bolter to death by another unit of 10 chaos marines. - Turn 2 saw Ian Termies deep strike & plasma gun some stuff to death, which was follow by a unit of my Termies arrive by Deep Strike & slaughter them (with some help from a Chaos Marine squad I belive) - Near the end I had two object (one squad spread out between two object), while another one was contested & Ian held one with his 5 man unit of normal Chaos Marines. As per normal it not a report by me unless there are a lot pf photos in game haha. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04613.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04614.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04615.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04616.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04617.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04618.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04619.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04620.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04621.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04622.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04623.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04624.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04625.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04626.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04627.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04628.jpg As said in the end I got 2 object out of 4 while another was contested & Ian held the other one. I think if random game length kick in it would have been another story with his Death Guard kicking about. But I was happy that random game length help :D Just recently random game length been kicking in that the wrong time for me :( But again another good game vs Ian & as per usely was not a easy battle on any account. Next Battle, Tau Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164428-elg-conpulsion-tournament-report/ Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
So after round 1, it was time for some launch. Lucky Ian knew where there was a good curry restaurant that was near by & got to say really enjoy my curry but was a bit more spicy than I am use to. Did not each much curry though it good just I felt it would be best for my next two oppent not to suffer my wind of chaos. As it seem to have a psychological effect my wind of chaos(fart) on my oppent that Stirling wargaming club when I had a curry :P But after eating some good food & having a look around the Conpulsion event (as said ELG club was invited to run the tournament & that the event there was a few sale stands, but main RPG stuff :( ). Round 2: Trail by fire.... also that my building Oppent: Nick Army Tau: There was a lot of Fire Warriors haha, Hammer Head, Two battle suit with rail guns, 6 to 9 Battle Suits (one them being HQ with drones). I think that about it, sorry Nick if I got any wrong, don't battle Tau that much Mission: Kill Points, that clease style set up Loss As said before Tau are the bane army for me, all those nice long range fire power weapon :D It was a great game & Nick was a great oppent. The game was a good battle, I can't rememeber much (though it was that 1pm to 2.45pm haha) sorry Nick I rememeber there was a show down between one of my One Obliterators vs one of the Tau Rail gun suit. Took from turn 1 to 4 for the battle of the weapon to see this with the end of the rail gun Battle Suit, but also cost me a Obliterators (another one who was walking about give fire support toward my Rhino units) Also Nick set up his Fire Warriors (30) holding a building which they mange to hold all game. Mange to keep a Daemon Prince back as well as two of my ten man units. Slaughter them under a hail of pulse rifles The game ended with me with 2 Rhinos & a unit of 4 Termies. Tau had two unit of Fire Warriors, hammer head, I think two unit battle suit. Overall it was a good game & Nick was a good oppent. Hopeful the photos show more. Tau "this is my building" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04629.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04630.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04631.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04632.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04633.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04634.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04635.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04636.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04637.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04638.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04639.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04640.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04641.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04642.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04643.jpg Again was a good game vs Nick & it good to battle my bane foe of the Tau :D haha. The Tau truly held that building for the whole game haha. So after the round 2 is was a quick 15min break. Iron-Daemon Forge
Round 3: Battle of the Fallen Angels Oppent: Graeme (sorry for forgetting your name there :( ) Army: Dark Angels, the list was Chaplain, Assault Marines, Venrable Dreadnought, 3 (?) Tactical units one mounted in Rhino... or is it 4 units, Land Speeder with Multi Melta & Assault Cannon, Predator with 3x Lascannons. I think that the list. Mission: One Object each, Dawn of War Win to me So finial round of this tournament, one win & one loss so far. The finial battle is upon us. The game was another good relax game from what I can rememeber - Both my Termies unit Deep Strike to my oppent right flank while my Rhino units aim for the Dark Angels left flank. My Termies mange to take down the Dark Angels predator on turn 2 & the second unit took on half of the assault marines that where in cover. - This was follow by my Termies making so many save that the chaos gods truly did favour them. In one squad though I loss three out of four models I mange to take on around three units of fire power on that one model. Like wise the other Termies unit mange to take on the Chaplain in combat but loss two of there fellow chaos brother. It took a lot in the end to remove my Termies with the amount of cover & normal save they made. - My Rhinos slow made it up the left flank (my right) taken down a few tactical marine on the way - The Raven Wing land speeder went around hunting down units that where near to break point like my Termies or the odd pot shot vs my Rhinos. - The game went onto turn 7, if it finish off that tuen 5 the game would have been a draw. As said Random game length been the bane of me so far :P when it arrive when you do not need it, but never happen when you do. But seem the chaos gods favour me which seen two unit (one down to three Marines) & my Daemon Prince taken on the remain of the Dark Angels army who where holding there own object. While I had my Melta gun 10 man squad holding my own object. Again was a great game. *whoop this first photos from the Tau game* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04644.jpg *Round three photos onword* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04645.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04646.jpg Termies arrive on the right flank of my Dark Angels foe :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04647.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04648.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04649.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04650.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04651.jpg My Oblits slow going up the middle http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04652.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04653.jpg One Oblit down, three more to move on :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04654.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04655.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/ironwarriors/insane%20psycopath/ELG/Conpulsion/DSC04656.jpg Sadly I did not get much photos near the end due to being caught up in the game & right after we had finish were all ask to hand in the result as soon as possible. Again the ELG gaming club ran another great tournament. It just shame the Conpulsion folk did not advertise the tournament that well as the ELG club put a lot work in to get this tournament ready & they did advertise them self. But hopeful ELG will do another tournament with Conpulsion next year, I know that the ELG club have a few other great tournament planned later this year which I look forward to (Andy if your reading this, just put me down now for those tournament :( ) Overall I came 2nd place which was pretty cool :D Now my Iron Warriors are going to get another rest for a bit. Took them out since the start of March to get ready for this tournament. Now going to give Daemon a try as I would like to give them a try that one of the ELG tournament in Nov. So test out Daemon for a bit until I get a list that dose well. My Iron Warriors will be back out in May for the UKGT session happen (well Heat 1 in Oct just that when ticket & tournament pack usely come out). Overall there was a few mistake I made, but not to many. As said I enjoy the day, meet new & old friends, got a good curry & have spent my £10 GW gift voucher toward some Daemon models since me & Ian went pass GW Edinbrugh (on our way to the stastion). Ian came 1st place with his Black Legion, no idea what the total pts are between the both of us, but got to be close by my guess. Should get a result sheet soon. Also just happy to see more tournaments happen in Scotland. I think 2008 been the most I attend tournament from 40k Radio, rapided fire, UKGT, ELG Rompa stompa all these with my Iron Warriors. While this year Conplsion, 40k Radio world wide war (if they 40k radio folk do it again as it was great), Rapaid Fire & of course ELG Rompa Stompa. I know three (because one just pass) will be useing my Iron Warriors, as said the other one might see me with Daemon :D Thanks IP Edit: Forgot to add in a big thanks to all three oppents it was a great day getting games vs you & in future event will alway be happy for a re-match :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164428-elg-conpulsion-tournament-report/#findComment-1933484 Share on other sites
Cornelias
nice to see another scot loitering about the boards! i hadn't noticed before now heh and i totally undertsand about your train journey heh well done on coming second seems like you played pretty well :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164428-elg-conpulsion-tournament-report/#findComment-1933517 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
Thanks Cornelias, as for Scottish memeber, there a few kicking around there a topic in + COMMUNITY + about central Scotland there. well done on coming second seems like you played pretty well Thanks, I think I may have made a few mistake when I battle Tau looking back, but hay for me it about learning after the game be it a loss or win, as long as it hopeful help me improve. Also my IW have been around a bit (come back to the GT in 2005) with recenty tournament been (yes for those that have seen them before... here they are again :D ) 40k Radio World Wide War by ELG club UKGT heat 1 2008 Rapid Fire by Stirling wargaming club (club I go to) ELG Rompa Stompa So far that has been 40k Radio Eldar Chaos (Ian) Eldar UKGT Eldar Necron Chaos Tau Dark Angels Marines (Traits) Rapid Fire Chaos (Ian) Necron Tau ELG Rompa Stompa Nids Nids Blood Angels Conpulsion Chaos (Ian) Tau Dark Angels Not a single new Marine army, Daemons, Orks, Dark Eldar or Imperial Guards (only fought them twice in 5th Ed) & Sister of battle before I forget :) IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164428-elg-conpulsion-tournament-report/#findComment-1933536 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
What I like about your lists mate is they are firm but fair. What do I mean by that? Well like you, I believe there is no such thing as a cheesey list, especially in GT play. What I don't like is lists that have no nod towards fluff, though this is a minor quibble in tournement play (alls fair in love and war and all that). Your list is firm (competetive and hard) and still reminds me how an Iron Warriors army should look (fair). Nice series of games. You will be well warmed up for the GT, I played hardly any games lately! Your games are usually bloody, so seeing barely anything survive in your game against the Tau is hardly surprising! You said they are your bogey army, but I have never lost against Tau (since 3rd edition!)! My bogey is Eldar (they just have so much firepower and are so mobile!) Iron-Daemon Forge
Captain Idaho: Thanks, yes all three oppent where good & I like fighting against there armies :D Would happily battle any of them, hope the feeling the same. With Tau being my bane army, I think it because I rarely fight them that much other than from tournament & so just trying to find way quickly on deal with them . Right now the main armies I been battleing are Marine or Orks. Also they have as much fire power as the old school IW from the pulse rifle able to take some good pot shot that light armour tanks to the big gun being Rail Gun (on hammer head cause it also give you nice Ord when battling Ork of course :D ) But as said it alway good battleing them :D Like any other army as said I'm alway happy to get a game & it sort of good that I only battle Tau in tournament as it keep me on my toe (same would go to other armies I rarely fight like Imperial Guards, Daemons, Nids (like Nidzilla that ELG Rompa Stompa tournament)) But again was a good tournament, hopeful the ELG do this again as it was nice to have a 40k tourny now, while waiting on the rest from Sept onwords. Also great oppent which is good as so far I not had a single bad oppent (pray to the chaos gods this stay the same that all future tournament be good oppent & I enjoy ever single game) Your list is firm (competetive and hard) and still reminds me how an Iron Warriors army should look (fair). Thanks, just shame I can't take my 4x Predator tanks & Oblits as Elites any more :( So yes next tournament for my IW will be 40k Radio, UKGT, Rapid Fire. ELG Rompa Stompa be my Daemons (planned to). IP Why I take the unit I do from ELG Rompa Stompa topic & UKGT topic Also as said why I pick stuff I did (already said in GT topic but just let people see it here as well). Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company HQ Warsmith Abhorred Riddick (Daemon Prince), Wings - 130 - The Daemon Prince is just a really cool model first & formost. Background wise with the model being my warsmith it a big bit as well as said vs Blood Angels. Also unit wise a Daemon Prince... though can not get some great upgread's as they use to in 3.5 days, they are more survible since they can no longer be killed by S10 Weapons, also there cheaper to be honsty. In my Army the Daemon Prince one & only role is of course close combat & he the rock hard combat unit in my army with a might WS7 will pretty much slap anything he fight with a might S6 following. I not went for any marks because where IW's & I want to stick to the background. While Psychic powers, to be honsty though Lash is good I just find it over rated & rather have more gun's while other power... again IW & my Warsmith background wise has never been a psychicer. Also I want to prove it in games as well See the mortal version of Warsmith Abhorred Riddick here back in my 2001-2002 army for my first tournament Conflict Scotland http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=151373&hl= Elites Squad 7: Tormentia, 4x Termies arm with Power Weapon & combi Plasma - 140 Squad 8: Proeliator 4x Termies arm with Power Weapon & Combi Plasma - 140 - Well apart from the Daemon Prince, when I pick armies I like my unit to have a min of two roles in the army, as you will see most it shooting as well as dealing great in combat (depend what there against of course). With the Termies was another "I like the models & cool conversion". Also with Combi Plasma there great & cheap. On a unit of Termies who will ALWAY Deep Strike useing the Icon's best thing to ever have Icon Glory (if your going for God mark for normal Marines better just getting the cult unit them self), pick out small elite units/Monster or tanks (since I only have 4x Oblit & my Chaos Marines are usely in combat 95% of the time). The turn after Deep Striken, ether counter attack what ever my 10 man Chaos squad hold up, or go after small elite units with (if there still full strength of course) 12 Power Weapon attacks. Also have a nice 2+ save alway great. Troops Squad 1: Iupatus Proeliator 9 Chaos Space Marines, Plasma Gun, Heavy Bolter, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Squad 2: Be Graphicus 9 Chaos Space Marines, Plasma Gun, Heavy Bolter, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 Squad 3: Apocalypse 9 Chaos Space Marines, Melta Gun, Heavy Bolter, Icon of Glory Champ, Power Weapon - 215 Rhino, Extra armour - 50 - 5th Ed as well all know is about troops. I found my three unit to do alright, did try adding a 5 man squad but took away so much needed punch in theforce & was going to try a unit Bezerker for this event but again it just took away part that where really needed. In general as said I like my unit for a few role. Nothing more nicer (IMO) than seeing a squad of 10 Chaos just boltering a squad to death. Heavy Bolter there to make use of the Rhino Hatch in the even I face Hordes or when holding a object, also plastic devastators HB just look cool on chaos marines. Rhino's, again with the release of 5th Ed tanks have became a little better (though I still not a fan of the defence weapon being S4 now ) they keep my troop safe (well unless there blow up of course) & mean when I reach the enemies line I can pretty puch punch grab them by the nose & punch there teeth in with mass bolter, follow by 10 marine charging in as don't underestamate (sp) normal close combat attacks. But yes Rhinos are also there for blocking true line of sight as well in the event stuff dose not go to plan or when I am holding the object as last thing you want is your unit wipe out. I did not go for any cult unit (though as said above I have Bezerker painted up). Just again it Iron Warriors, sure I can use count as & there fearless... but just again want to prove that basic Chaos Marines do great as well. Heavy Support: Squad 5: Excessus Fillius 2 Oblits - 150 Squad 4: Oburo 1 Oblit - 75 Squad 6: Hydra Infensus 1 Oblit - 75 - Obliterators... it Iron Warriors, it why I started them. My friend who use to work for GW that the time back when Chaos Marine just came out for 3rd Ed made a really cool Thasound Son force with Obliterators for support. The conversion where really great & so I copy his idea but with my own changies of course. Index Astarties came out & I just really like the Iron Warriors background (since it was a bit more detail), I like the new art work & the image it give of Iron Warriors, seen about they where allow more Obliterators (back when they use to be rubbish game wise). Anyway.... Obliterators role is to alway set up hiden behind the Rhino until my first turn, there my only long range fire power in the army with the aim to deal with tanks & small elite units. There cheaper than Havocs, most all they can move & fire which it a lot better with the Dawn of War set up. Also with a nice power fist there able to handly it out in close combat. I will alway have Obliterators in my army. In general when I was making my Iron Warriors, I am not a fan of stastic armies as I find them boring to use. For me my style of warfare has been Mobilty & I like to play aggressive with my armies alway have them in your face grab you by the nose & punch you teeth in (not really toward people, just mean this as the style of my gaming) as again I hate hideing the whole games & then just grab the Object last min with out doing anything to the oppent army, just not in me. As you seen in my Iron Warriors force everthing can move & shoot you up, following with a mass assault with a might 30 Chaos Space Marines, 8 Termies, a Daemon Prince with Obliterators slow getting there giveing covering fire. As you see from my photos & from other report my Iron Warriors rarely stay still. I may not be the world greatiest gamer, but ever oppent I fight have said my games have been challegeing & if they win then it been pretty hard work. With 5th Ed I really have found it add onto this & really dose make you think a lot more, as after the tournament (listed below) everone I talk to all feel there mind just going on shut down after the event which is good as you want to feel challenge in games, you never want a easy game. The main thing is after each game, you learnt from them & I feel from 5th Ed I really am learning a lot more which is great as it alway give you though for the brain & nothing worst than learning nothing from a game. As GT 2006 show, when I went to my old local GW the gamer there where not the best, I would learn nothing new, got to GT 2006 & make so many mistake & was worst GT for me in term of games. But 2007 to now I am learning new things which is important & alway good for both myself & my oppent making the game more challegeing. When I pick a army as said I make sure there able to do a min of two role as I am not much of a fan (apart from Daemon Prince) of taken units that are limited to one role. I pick my army as long as it by the codex/rules, like wise I am more than happy to fight any army that it by the codex/rule book as ever army offer a challenge & come down to the player useing them as well it only if the oppent a git I would not fight them. I have not found any weakness in my army, just come down to ether being out object, out played, etc... I dout I will change my army as said above I try a 5 man squad by dropping 2x Termies & a Heavy Bolter Marine but just did not feel right & those two Extra Termies & Heavy Bolter really did make the change/help I needed while play testing. While Bezerker I try them out... I will keep them for 1750pts but in 1500pts as said I want unit that can handly a min of two role's & just Icon's really work well in the event I need to keep one unit back to hold a home Object. As said 5th Ed really has became less predictable. Hope this make sence Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164428-elg-conpulsion-tournament-report/#findComment-1933950 Share on other sites
