TheLastHuzzah
Greetings All, I just returned from a 1250 pt tourney at the FLGS, and figured I'd write up what transpired. Twelve indviduals played, three round tournament. I don't have any pics and am mostly going from memory (90m game length. This is my first written BatRep, any tips to make them more readable, less painful to read/write are greatly appreciated. My Army: HQ- Venerable Dread- AC, Heavy Flamer, EA, Smoke, Pod w/ Locator Beacon WGBL- TH, SS, WP, MB Elite- Dread- MM, HF, Pod Troops- 9 GH- PP (x2), PG, frags, Bolters (x6) WGPL- Combi-plas, PF, WP, TDA, RC Pod 9 BC- PF (x2), Flamer (WGBL here) Rhino 6 GH- Bolters (x3), PP (x2), MG (x1) RB- TLHB, SB Heavy- Predator Destructor- HB, SB Game 1 Chaos Daemons- Skulltaker in Chariot, 10x Daemonettes, 2x 12 Bloodletters, 2x10 Plaguebearers, Soulgrinder w/ Phlegm Dawn of War, Seize Ground, 4 objectives 4x6 table, 2 markers in the lower right table quarter (#1 in ruins, #2 on large hill 13" from the first, my side), #3 in the top right quarter just outside ruins, #4 in the top left quarter near ruins Deployment- Not a thing from either of us SW Turn 1- Ven Dread drops in about 5" from objective #3 facing his board edge (bad move); pod lands 2" from the objective. GH Pod Lands 4" from the same objective and they run into the ruins. BC rhino rolls in to touch the hill holding objective #2. Destructor moves in 6" behind the ruined building containing objective #1. Razorback drives between the Destructor and BC Rhino. Daemons Turn 1- Daemon Player's First wave is 2x10 Plaguebearers, 1x10 Daemonettes, Soul Grinder. Both Plaguebearer units drop near Objective #4 (Not sure why he dropped both here, one may have been a bad scatter). Squad #1 Consolidates around objective #4, Squad #2 runs toward objective #1. This next explanation is tough; I apologize in advance for any fried brains: The Daemonettes landed near what would be the center line of the short board edge, to the left of a ruined building to the left of the ruins containing Objective #1 (the right edge of the aforementioned ruins were about 16" from objective #1). Daemonettes run toward my board edge. Soul Grinder does not scatter and lands between the Razorback and rhino. Shooting sees the Soul Grinder's Phlegm tag the VenDread's rear armor with an immobilized result; Thank you, Hard to Kill. SW Turn 2- MM Dread drops adjacent to the back edge of the ruins mentioned in the Daemonettes explanation above. The Razorback GHs disembark in the rear arc of the Soul Grinder. The Pod GHs spread out in the ruined building and gain control of Objective #3. Shooting goes fairly well. The MM dread and RB GHs get revenge for the acidic loogie; clearing the Soul Grinder's sinuses (Phlegm destroyed) and immobilizing it. The Destructor and Razorback combine for 3 daemonette kills. Daemon Turn 2- Daemon turn sees the remainder of his army enter play. Bloodletter squad #1 drops near the center of the table and runs toward the ruins containing objective #1. Bloodletter squad #2 drops along the right board edge and end up 18" away from the Podded GH. Bloodletters run towards GH. Skulltaker lands 16" from the ruins containing the Pod GH and runs. No shooting here. SW Turn 3- Pod GH realize that getting charged by Skulltaker and the Bloodletters would be "bad" and moved out of the ruins towards the Bloodletters. An abysmal round of shooting from the GH and drop pods (VenDread was stuck looking at the Daemon board edge) see only 4 Bloodletters sent back to the warp. I didn't do any mathhammer, but 19 bolter shots, and 6 Plasma shots ought to have killed more than that. BC Rhino Attempts to drive up the hill (and hopefully get to the aid of whatever Pod Hunters might be left), but pops a tread. I disembarked the whole crew and ran towards Objective# 2 MM Dread advanced on the Soul grinder, and missed with the multimelta shot. RB GH unload on the Soul Grinder with 2 plasma pistols and a meltagun, all miss and I lose 1 GH to an overheat. Shooting from the Razorback, Destructor and Drop Pod kill another 4 daemonettes. MM dread assaults the Soul Grinder, wrecking the overgrown cyber-crab. Daemons Turn 3- Daemonettes keep on moving, getting a little too close for comfort, but there are only 3 left Plaguebearer Squad #2 continues making their way slowly towards Objective#1 Bloodletter Squad #1 moves and runs towards Objective #1 also coming too close for comfort Bloodletter Squad #2 moves within an inch of the Pod GH. Skulltaker moves to attempt an assault on the Pod GH as well (overkill, anyone?), but falls short by .5" Bloodletter Squad #2 assault the Pod Hunters; 24 WS5 S5 power attacks later, my GH were "owned". Bloodletters consolidate onto the objective SW Turn 4- The BC sit on their objective, the WGBL letting them know that they'll be Grey Hunters in no time. VenDread and drop pods open up on the Bloodletters, dropping 5 (now we're talking!) MM dread Positions himself to contest objective #1 Drop pod and Razorback clean up the remaining Daemonettes. Destructor moves into a better firing position, dropping two of the Bloodletters that are nearing the objective. Daemon Turn 4- Dismayed by his inability to charge the GH, Skulltaker decides to take his Fury out on a drop pod (Ceramite for the Blood God?). Fails to cause any damage. Plaguebearers keep running, nearing objective #1. Bloodletters reach the front of the ruins containing objective #1. SW Turn 5- Combined VenDread and Pod shooting kills the 3 remaining Bloodletters on Objective #3 MM dread BBQs 4 Bloodletters, Destructor, RB and Pod combine for another 3. Daemon Turn 5- Skulltaker fails to damage the pod again. 3 Bloodletters reach Objective #1 Plaguebearers continue running (would be able to reach Objective #1 if there was a turn 6) Game Ends Result: Draw MVP: Nothing particularly Stands out If you made it this far, have an ale and some lamb (put it on Dark Bjoern's tab). the other two games were much less complicated, and hopefully will not take as long to read/write. -Huzzah Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164462-1250-tournament-results-batreps/ Share on other sites
Yeti
Sounds good so far. Bat reps are always nice because it lets you learn about armies you haven't played. I've never faced Demons for example, so I get to learn about how they work from this report.
