Space Sharks WIP

I was wishing to strip my badly painted Templars recently, and I was wondering what chapter to paint them up as. Then, browsing through some of the older posts on here, I realized what I wanted to do - Space Sharks. I've decided to run them via the Space Wolves codex (the Space Guppies joke was just too good to pass up), so here's a squad of Grey Hunters. All have been primed, and I've gotten some paint on one of them.

And now the Scrub that I have gotten paint on. He was done with Codex Grey over grey primer, highlighted with a mix of Skull White and Codex Grey. He is going to get washes, Badab Black and probably Devlan Mud. Also probably a drybrush over the metal, to burnish it up a bit.

EDIT - Oh yes, I still haven't decided how to paint the soft armor either. Any advice there would be quite nice.

Not too shabby.

I'm not a huge fan of some of the poses, but that's all personal choice.

As for the soft armor, I'd go with black. It'll help you create some color contrast, and break up the sea of grey on these Marines.

Remember to file down some of that paint on their shoulders before you try to glue on the pads, or they'll just pop off after a while.

As you might be able to see (it got washed out a bit in the pictures, seeing the models, there's a big diference), the one on the left is much darker. This stems from my giving him a Devlan Mud wash as well as a Badab Black wash. The one on the right just got the Badab. I like the Plasma Pistol's grey much better, so that's the plan for the rest of them. The backpacks will come at the end, as that's just how I always do it.

I've gotten a few pieces painted - a grey hunter and dreadnought finished, and my Captain to a moderate stage of doneness (he needs a head, and his shield).
