xa0s
Anybody ever made a model for it or artwork? It's mentioned in Ravenor Returned by Dan Abnett. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164538-incunabula/ Share on other sites

Imperialis_Dominatus
From the other thread: Nope. From what I read in Ravenor Returned, an incunabula is like a daemonhost, save for two things: First, it is bound to a metal, robotic shell. This could just be the Ravenor series' specific incanabula, however. Perhaps they can be bound in other fashions. The one in the series was the Brass Thief. Second, and perhaps more elementary, it is a daemon from the beginnings of Chaos- thus perhaps not aligned to any specific gods. It could be from when the Warp was just getting turbulent after the Old Ones started busting out psychic races and making the Warp crazy. That's just what I got from what I read, though. I've dug up all the relevant quotes and these two seem to be the only ones discussing its origins, even vaguely. Something primaeval, an atavistic throwback to the pre-formed ages of Chaos... From when Chaos was young, then. The feral essence... the azoic daemon-spark... free from the ancient device that had bound it for so long. It vanished, never, I imagine, to be found or enslaved again. And presumably the Brass Thief is only a device, then. Chaplain Kharn
what you mean the brass thief? he's not the only incunabula you know he is just one of few a greater daemon that has served the dark gods for a LONG time and can be called upon for tasks that would benefit itself as well as the being commanding it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164538-incunabula/#findComment-1942625 Share on other sites
Imperialis_Dominatus
what you mean the brass thief? he's not the only incunabula you know he is just one of few a greater daemon that has served the dark gods for a LONG time and can be called upon for tasks that would benefit itself as well as the being commanding it I know he's not the only one. I even said so: This could just be the Ravenor series' specific incanabula, however. And where do you get the idea that the incunabula served the Dark Gods (presumably meaning the Big Four)? I posit that it is from 'the pre-formed ages of Chaos' and thus older than the Gods (at least those we know).
