deedark
My son has finally painted up 1000pts of Nids and wanted to battle - he wanted to play annihilation - he was confident He had a Carnifex with a big gun, 6 warriors and a boat load of crawling things Me HQ VDread with PC and ML HQ WGBL FB and SS ran with claws 2 x 6GH packs PG and Bolters 8 BCs with PWs and Flamer 4 Long Fangs 2xPC and 1x ML + RB with AC WWind I put 1 GH pack left flank in cover (bait), 1 centre in cover so he would have to cover a lot of ground to get them, they just blasted away all game WW, Dread and Fangs on right flank being screened by the BC+WGBL and RB He started a bit too far back gave me a round of shooting more than I should. First time my newly built LFs have seen action and they rocked, expensive but by the end of turn 2 they'd seen off his fex and began dropping plasma death on every thing else, they just couldnt miss and were well supported by their RB with AC. WWind proved itself again hitting more than not Loses/injury Left flank GHs wiped out but did their job of delaying the onslaught, centre GHs 3 dead, lost 2BC's and the Vdread lost a weapon, but a good win for the wolves. He is going to upgrade his fex to a +2 save next time, which would take the edge off my Plasma Cannons, so next time LC on fangs and dread, perhaps a LC Pred. Next time he said he's just going to set up 12inches in and swarm at me as fast as possible, death awaits me apparently but not till next weekend and he's after another fex, but as I will be buying I think the best tactic would be to withhold his pocket money. We had a good night, great father and son time D. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164568-1000pts-v-tyranids/ Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Dude, plasma cannons are AP2, his extended carapace will only affect your missile launcher.... so just frag some gaunts, or target the warriors. It wont affect your longfangs at all. Nice solid victory there. You might pass on a reccommendtion for some winged warriors with a CC outfitting. It couldnt hurt eh? Best of luck, its always nice to have an opponent in house. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164568-1000pts-v-tyranids/#findComment-1935030 Share on other sites

Vassakov
I'd advise against the LC - a second ML would be more useful with that set up. Also, 4 Templates hurt, and vs Heavy Infantry/Tanks you've got the masses of High Strength/Low AP shots. All in all, your list seems pretty solid. Your sons, on the other hand is more dubious. 1 MC is a cardinal sin, and is advised against. A Tyrant and a second Fex will serve him well moving into 1500pts, backed up by lots of gribblies is about as competitive as mixed Nid's lists get. Also, as Grey Mage has missed the most important point - Hail to the victory, Ales are on you! Grey Mage
That options not a bad one, and it would help against the heavy armor found in other armies without really hurting you against monstrous creatures. All in all a good choice. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164568-1000pts-v-tyranids/#findComment-1935691 Share on other sites
