As you cannot buy the master crafted upgrade in the new marine codex where the distinction has gone does it really matter? From memory I believe only Master Crafted weapons in the CSM dex are on Shrike (CC only), Lysander (CC only), Tigurius (cc only), Casius (Shooting only as it is a bolter combi weapon) and Vulkan (CC only). Therefore there is no reason to debate whether master crafting a pistol confers a re roll for a pistol when there are no examples or ways of obtaining.
