Pig Of Sparta Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 The photos aren't easy to make out, but from what I can see it looks pretty spot on. I'm not sure if any traitors maintain T'Hawks anymore, but kudos to you for giving it a go. What legion/warband are you painting it up as? If you can get some better pics up (I know its not easy when the 'mini' of the photos is so big) then you might get some more comments. Loken86 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Share Posted April 2, 2009 @ James thanks for the advice mate. my traitor warband is the Sons of Horus THIS is not a pre heresy army just some lasy ass chaos boys who didnt wanna re-paint there armour after Abaddon declared himself as war master. i thought it was time for an update all wings and engines are fitted, gun wings have been fitted with dragon headed lascannons. g-relk Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 if you want to be fluff correct, i believe the pre-heresy version of a thunderhawk was the stormbird, though thunderhawks were used, they were only very new so were quite rare. got no idea what the differance would be regards looks (if there is any). either way, there is some great work in this. only thing i would suggest is to cover the cardboard in something like plasticard so the croners wont fray. that, or paint it with superglue (which works REALLY well, just watch the fumes). look forward to seeing this finished ;) cheers charles Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sons of Horus Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 wow this actually looks really really good :P :P :tu: only one problem though, that eye on the wing was the eye of Horus pre-heresy which wouldn't fit in a post-heresy thunderhawk. Loken86 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Share Posted April 3, 2009 @ Ladvic love the card mate @ sons of horus thanks for the tip mate any idea what a modern eye of horus will be like i dont like the black legion style eye lol. @ g-relk i id attempt to make a stormbird i think i did ok do u wanna see it? and according to the HH series thunderhawks were new but they were more numerous than the Stormbirds. only legions like the sons of horus, iron hands and emperor children kept a large number of Stormbird in service most of the other legions had more thunderhawks mainley iron warriors, world eaters and death gaurd. thanks for all the comments people any idea where i could get my hands on 4 X twin-linked Heavy bolters as well 6 x hell strike missiles on the cheap? more pics to come @ some point to day as ive borrowed my misses digi cam. stinkenheim Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 with regards to the twin linked heavy bolters... is your army quite mechanized? if so uy razorbacks instead of rhinos and steal their heavy weapons ^_^ otherwise ebay would probably be your best bet... for the hellstrikes, use the hunterkillers off of the imperial guard sprue and lengthen them slightly.. that could work... i could dig through my bitzbox and see if i've got any if you wanted. the general build looks nice though... can't wait to see it finished (well minus most of the weapons hey :D ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
