kickme829
do thunder hammers if causes wound make the model unable to attack on the turn it was wounded? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/ Share on other sites
whitewolfmxc
no , but if the enemy suffers a unsaved wound from the hammer , next turn its initiative is down to 1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/#findComment-1941680 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
which really only applies to monstrous creatures since the high str will normally insta-kill most models. Yeti
this annoys me... rune priest with TH and SH would OWN a lot of things It does ... it just needs to get a chance to strike. Your best bet is to lurk in cover/stormcaller and take the charge. Add a wolf pelt and he's got a whole whack of attacks on the counter-charge. More than enough to "lay the beat down" on just about anything. Stick him in a squad for some ablative wounds (ideally WG) ... you're golden. Oh ... and pray they don't have frags ... :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/#findComment-1942013 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Yeah... cover is great. I took out a six man strong unit of Meganobz last weekend because they charged into the building where I had my TH+SS wulfen... sure he died, but seven attacks later I had six kills and twice his points, easily, wiped out. It was to bad, Id wanted to use him on the killa kanz. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/#findComment-1942078 Share on other sites
kickme829
well in the codex it just said cant attack if wounded. I just thought that it meant if they were wounded they cant attack the same turn it was wounded. Grey Mage
Where in the codex are you talking about? Wich codex? The rules for thunderhammers should be taken from the core rulebook for future reference. kickme829
from SW codex at the back. speaking of which any difference between TH and PW? also if there's no difference then why is it 5 points more expensive than PW. i quote" strike last, double strength, no save, all wounded models cant attack for one turn. vehicle hits stunned Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/#findComment-1942155 Share on other sites
stinkenheim
?? how do you mean any difference between thunder hammer and power weapon... you mean aside from the obvious, a thunder hammer doubles your strength, makes you strike at I1, stuns enemies, causes vehicles to become stunned (think it still does haven't really checked truth be told), ignores armour saves and can't gain the bonus attack for 2 close combat weapons unless the other is the same and power weapons allow you to gain the attack bonus, ignore armour saves and yo strike in I order... then no... they are the same... and yeah as said by someone, you should basically ignore the descriptions given in codex: Space Wolves for pretty much everything cos its 2 editions old now and many things that have a space marine equivilant now work differently... +edit+ assuming you meant powerfist... the main difference is the thing about stunning you enemy and they have a slight bonus againts vehicles as i mentioned... otherwise they have the same drawbacks (strike last, no attack bonus) so it depends who your fighting as to what you take... Bran Scalphunter
Mein Gott! :cuss How many times has it been said in this zogging forum that you do not use the summary in the back of our Emperor-damned Codex!? Really, I'm sure it's been mentioned a few fething hundred times! Do NOT use the summary from the back of the Codex for anything. If it's not in the Space Wolf Armory description, check Codex: Space Marines. If that says check the BBB it's there. Does anyone even bother to read those FAQ's up top anymore? SORRY i meant power fists... any way... even so if i take it from 5th edition shall i keep it as the cost in the SW codex? because if PF and TH are the same then why is it that TH is 5 points more? Before Bran blows another gasket and knocks you upside the head with his Exterminatusock ... Power fists just double your strength and ignore armor. Thunder hammer do that, drop the enemy down to I1 (if it ain't dead ... ) and if you damage a vehicle, you cause a crew shaken on top of whatever else. It's handy, especially against vehicles since weapons destroyed and immobilized resuts no longer auto-stun. But for future reference ... triple check your rule books before asking questions. Grey Mage
And I dont think youve played a game yet. Alright bran, step down. Kick me, please read the core rulebook, regular or pocket size. I dont mind questions, and the orks zealousness aside I dont think any of us do but It would be nice to see you take the effort to become familiar with the core rules. If you cant afford a copy, then find one to borrow. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/#findComment-1942202 Share on other sites

Bran Scalphunter
1 last thing then I'll be good, I promise Grey. @ OP: At first, I was sorry, but now I'm not, since the way you post (to me at least) sounds a lot like you haven't read the books or cared to give them a brief glance. The Assassins, easily answered by the Retinues and Allies rules. Shoot me, I've got no problems with questions, it's just that when they are so easily answered by reading the books that I get annoyed. If you just took the time to read them, there'd be no questions and thus, I wouldn't get angry at people for asking (the same) questions multiple times. @ GM: I'm not too zealous, just see the above. Not everyone does this, you might fine. But you dont need to be a jerk about it. Take it into consideration that you might have all the books, but also not everyone wants to buy each book. Power weapons are so common as to be found on almost every single battlefield, powerfists too. This question didnt require you to know each and every rule, just a common rule found in all armies of the game, save tau. :) My comments on your experiance are based not on your battle reports but on what you post, and how you post it. You come off as young, and new to the game. Id say between 14-16 with about three months of experiance, or say around 10 games. While Bran was out of line, and yes bran youve been a bit zealous with your socks lately- wether or not it was called for here, youve been disrespectful yourself on a few occaisions and most of your questions could be covered as I said earlier by reading through the rule book again. So please, both of you drop this before the mods bring us all a fiery present... of doom. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165028-thunder-hammers/#findComment-1942245 Share on other sites
