Brother Clavero
In the 40k rule book on pg. 63 it states"All hits are resolved against the vehicles rear armour". Now, if my troops assault move brought them into contact with the front of a Leman Russ(AV14), would their attacks still count as being against the Russes rear armour? This just sounds like a strange way to me. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165130-ap-in-close-combat/ Share on other sites
Bran Scalphunter
Yep. Imagine it as them assaulting the front, then clambering over the tank to rip apart all sorts of weak targets- stuffing a grenade down an open hatch, chainswording the poor mook watching from inside the tank through a vision port, or doing other, equally imaginative and violent things. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165130-ap-in-close-combat/#findComment-1942997 Share on other sites
Legatus
Yes. They are not literally attacking the rear even though they are standing at the front. They attack weak points, a soldier standing in front of the tank with a grenade or an anti-tank device can carefully place it in a critical spot or weak point, while shots taken from afar would simply hit the overall hull. The weak spots are only as well armoured as the vehicles weakest overall area, which usually is the rear armour.
