Two building related questions

Firstly, in a recent game, a terminator fired at my CSM squad safe and sound in a bunker and one lone bolt got lucky and blew it up killing 2 CSM. This wasn't an ammo dump, or a fuel depot, it was a concrete walls and windows bunker and i find it highly unintuitive that this happened. i just don't understand treating every building like its an immobilized vehicle because quite frankly, they're not, and i almost rather play the building as regular cover because at least cover doesn't explode.

secondly, do models need LOS from the top of parapets? heres an example:

again its like i'd rather treat parts of this buildings as cover, maybe the firing deck would just be cover and the citadel part would be the building but that leaves the matter of the rooftop. and does anyone have any good rules for allow jump infantry to land on top of these buildings to do some damage?

Well - most people dont play with building rules anyway. For something like that (whats posted) youre welcome to make your own rules too. Eg: Av14. etc etc. And it may not blow up, it may crumble and fall down on you.

As for your line of sight question - yes -you always need LOS from whereever you're firing from.

As far as JP rules- again -you define terrain so, you can define it as JP being safe to land on and off, but DT to move up/down or even impassible.

in a recent game, a terminator fired at my CSM squad safe and sound in a bunker and one lone bolt got lucky and blew it up killing 2 CSM.

In the rulebook on page 79 it suggests that bunkers have AV 14, while a shed or cabin made out of wood would have an AV of 9 or 10. So, was that bunker your CSM were hiding in made out of cardboard, and you gave it an AV as if it really was made out of cardboard, or how did that bolter round managed to blow up that bunker?

Sounds like you want to use the ruins rules instead of the building rules. (buildings pg 77-81 Ruins pg 82-85), Also the treating buildings as imobilized vehicles is not a bad thing, you just have to rationalize a little, the building didnt "explode" it colapsed (perhaps a critcal suport column was hit) with debree falling on everything nearby, which has the same effect as exploding.
after a another review of the rules i see you roll 1 D6 to add to your weapon strength instead of the 2 my opponent insisted on. so i guess im glad it was just a friendly game because if that was a tourney, i'd be pretty pissed right now. oh well, live and learn, and i still won the game. :)
