I AM THE AWESOME
Can a Techmarine repair a Drop Pod after it lands, such that it can move like a normal vehicle? 99.999999% says NO!, but that other 0.000001% thinks it's just too cool not to work. greatcrusade08
I would say that even if the techy could repair it, it wouldnt move.. Each vehicle has a 'category' that has rules that show how it moves, how far how many weapons can fire etc.. The drop pod has no such rules for movement, IIRC it specifically says somewhere that they do not move. Maybe it could be used to deny half points to the enemy though... HiveFleetEzekial
No. It is an immobile vehicle, not an immobilized vehicle. Quite a difference there. Gun platforms like turantulas, or earthshaker platforms, are also imobile, not immobilized, for reference. And, pretty sure the tech's rules even state 'imobilized', not just immobile. I AM THE AWESOME
Hah, thought so. Still, wouldn't that be cool if it could? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165419-an-extremely-silly-outlandish-question/#findComment-1946644 Share on other sites
Cadarn
Um, well the first question would be HOW would it move? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165419-an-extremely-silly-outlandish-question/#findComment-1946677 Share on other sites
Legatus
Codex Space Marines and Codex Dark Angels state that a Dro Pod counts as immobile and cannot be repaired. Which Codex are you using? Steelmage99
I could lead to some pretty odd (but fun) situations. Like an Ork Big Mek (because it is fitting) repairing a building (which counts as an immobile vehicle) and scooting around on the battlefield. Extremely fun picture, but not really a good idea. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165419-an-extremely-silly-outlandish-question/#findComment-1947050 Share on other sites
Legatus
Same thing, but you added on cannot be repaired. I am not sure what you mean, perhaps quotation marks or something like that would have made the meaning more clear. Codex Space Marines page 69 and Codex Dark Angels page 35 describe that landed drop pods are treated as immobilised vehicles which cannot be repaired. Unless your codex is in a differnt language he did not "add" that, the rules in the codex, pg 69, under the heading immobile specificly says the immobilized result cannot be repaired. Same thing, but you added on cannot be repaired. Except there are no movement rules for 'buildings' so even if it was 'fixed' it couldn't go anywhere. ^_^ And Immobilized results don't have an effect on building anyways, so it would change the damage it takes from attacks. Commander Sasha
Wheels? Lack thereof? If Bob the Builderpriest can mobilise a droppod, I've got a few buildings that would be a lot more useful if they could move at cruising speed. And some trees. Is this how Burnham wood came to Dunsinane?
