BloodBrother
so i better change assasin to eversor, and its quite possible that eversor would kill marines that attack him Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165472-assassins/page/2/#findComment-1951643 Share on other sites
BloodBrother
Also, for a mass engagement like major Eversor vs. Marine conflict Silent Shadow mentioned the Marines would have a major advantage as they are trained to fight as a co-ordinated group, while assassin training presumably assumes that the assassin would be working alone (except for Death Cult assassins). what about Assasinoriums Execution Force ,basiclly they are assassin teams Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165472-assassins/page/2/#findComment-1951707 Share on other sites
Chengar Qordath
What about Assasinoriums Execution Force ,basiclly they are assassin teams Assassins can work in teams when the mission requires it, but it's still going to be a fairly small team. Also, assassin training is still focused on assassination missions, not mass infantry battlefield tactics. Also, on the matter of Marines being superhuman, aren't Temple Assassins fairly enhanced as well? An Eversor can certainly tear apart a few Marines in melee, but no intelligent Space Marine is going to fight an Eversor in close combat if they have another option. After all, Eversor assassins are equipped with several melee weapons designed to rip through Marine armor, are probably drugged up/enhanced enough to meet or beat Marine capabilities, and explosively self-destruct when killed. Given the choice, a Marine would shoot an Eversor from as far away as possible, not ambush at close range. A Vindicare certainly could win in close combat vs. a Marine; if nothing else there's a point-blank shot from the Vindicare's Exitus Pistol. However, if it has a chance to do so the Vindicare would rather evade the Marine (easy enough to do with a Vindicare Stealth Suit), find a new sniping position, and then kill the SMs from there. Deffskull
Also wasn't one of the Primarchs assassinated... the one that could see the future... Mangus I think. So if they can kill a Primarch, a chapter master should be possible. The primarch was Kruze and he allowed the assassin to kill him to prove that the emperor was not the great man he claimed to be because he would use an assassin to kill one of his sons.
