I am Legion
So Far. It won't look so chucky when it's done, obviously. This is the prelimenary shot. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165590-salamander-wip-marine-6/ Share on other sites
Castlerook
To be honest, the idea is great, but I don't like the second bolter. It doesn't look right, maybe replace the left arm with a thunder hammer, posed to look like he has just swung it. On a lighter note, the greenstuff is amazing work, nicely done :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165590-salamander-wip-marine-6/#findComment-1949012 Share on other sites
Hubernator
the GS is impressive but the guy looks like he's gonna lean sideways too far and fall over. Straighten him up and he should be good. Funny, I was thinking he was flying backwards firing like in the Matrix :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165590-salamander-wip-marine-6/#findComment-1949030 Share on other sites
-Brutus-
I like the pose :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165590-salamander-wip-marine-6/#findComment-1949053 Share on other sites
I am Legion
Actually this is just a regular tactical marine #6 at this point. So i can only give him bolt weapons. Also the reason I didn't give him the pistol in the other arm was because I did go for a matrixish look. It's supposed to be an action shot, that's why the tabards are flowing like nuts. Kinda like he just turned in a circle real fast. Also the green stuff work isn't all that great but I will fix it. It's still a little chuncky in places but so long as they look like they are in motion, I don't really care. I am Legion
Ok the guy with the cape will look a bit differant. The bagel around his neck looks retarded, and so I'll change it for a more natural look. Sgt. Blank
I think the first pose and the GS work on the first one is better. On the second model, the GS is thicker at the edge near his left shoulder which hurts the cloth effect you achieved so well on the first one. The pose is also a lot more static, it's hard to tell what's behind the gun from this photo, but he just looks bent over or leaning forward. Sons of Horus
the 2nd marine has way too much GS on him. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165590-salamander-wip-marine-6/#findComment-1950745 Share on other sites
cathar the great
I agree with Sons of Horus, he looks like he is actually breaking down by the amount of stuff on him. And I don't really understand the purity seals on the cape of the first one, they actually take away the flow of the cape and make it look more static... I am Legion
Ok, so I fixed this guy up a bit. After I gave it the 24 hour test, I realized that those cloth ripples around his shoulders a re too big, and will make a note of it for next time. As of now, I'll leave it, and not worry about it too much. It should look fine when it's painted, but yeah, for those watching the progress, these are my next 2 marines. For the tabard guy, I needed something to cover the tip of the front part, so I put those seals there. I actually don't mind the look, and it may look better once painted. I'm still waiting for 2 people to get back to me about bits orders, and once I get those orders, I will begin my next guy. As of now I don't have an idea what to do with him. If you have suggestions I'm listening. Anyway: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165590-salamander-wip-marine-6/#findComment-1952318 Share on other sites
