White scars.. eventually!

Hey all, heres a few pics of a new marine army i'm going to put together

I'm a slow painter, generally one model at a time.. hopefully keeping track of the project like this will be motivation enough to see it through

Anyways, heres the pics.. comments most welcome! I went for a more beaten white then a pristine.. and a dulled red, in my eyes it's how I see 40k.. not the bright stuff :)

@NemFX, Yeah I did the logo freehand, I paint everything on my models freehand.. I can't quite pull off really super neat stuff.. but i'm pretty happy with how it turns out :)

I'll try get a better pic of the logo the next time I snap some photos

Not totally decided on how the army will go, the main theme will be drop pods..

cheers for the comments :D

I kept things fairly simple, no need to over complicate :D

A white undercoat, followed by a Gryphonne Sepia ink wash over the whole model

Progressively mix Skull white and the Sepia ink, I think I did 6 thin layers of this.. each time adding a little more skull white to the mix

Finally, another heavily watered down sepia ink wash over everything.. extremely thin... just to take the edge off of the white

hope that helps
