Space Marine Captain conversion

Hell to everyone at the B&C.

This is my first post on this forum, and i'm just looking for ideas for finishing this space marine captain. I was wondering whether to use ribbon or chain coming down his spear, and looking for ideas on parts + placing for extra detail. All C&C welcome.

Cheers!

I like to overall pose and the use of the parts so that it appears there is movement in the cloth parts of it. I think if you are choosing between ribbon/parchemnt or chain I would suggest the ribbon/parchment as you could further carry this movement over to his weapon.

The piece on the bottom end of the shaft looks a bit large, or is it there to give the weapon balance so its not overly weighted towards one end. I think removing that piece or replacing it with something smaller might be worth thinking about, other than that I like it and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks for the feedback amigo!

I've now replaced it with a smaller spike and it looks much better, here's some more pics-

Just a few purity seals to add and a bit of greenstuffing to do.

personaly i think the shield is a bit small. space marines are powerful in strength, just look at that spear. now compair it to the sheild, do they equil each other?

I dunno. Typically, spearfighters on foot would use a shield of buckler-size, at most. The shield is appropriate as-is, and I suspect ti was chosen more for the design on the front than the size of the armour.

@ ShinyRhino: I dunno, have you seen the size of a roman soldiers shield? And besides, he IS a space marine. He can use something bigger.

I think it's a good conversion anyway.

EDIT: Just remembered that Romans had pilums, not spears. oops.

I believe you are referring to spartans who used giant bronze circular sheilds (well bronze coloured anyway from memroy) and a spear and they are basicly what a human can become without having to become marine. spartans after all are most likely human marines (after all, the event the movie 300 was based on was a true event in history where the spartans took a huge toll on the persians. shows better training and terrain controls makes numbers worthless)
