i like it a lot. am really looking forward to seeing how your Khan turns out.

 

We use shamrocks, not clovers,

 

if you want to get pendantic. they are the same thing. there are differences but their is no dividing line. and whilst it is common to refer to the icon as a 'shamrock' it more commonly depicts a clover or even wood-sorrel.

 

also, you do not 'use' shamrocks, unless you grow Alfalfa for a living. you use an icon of a shamrock, though there is nothing exclusively or even particularly Irish about the plant (other than the association of the colour green).

 

and do you know how very few Irish people are ginger?

 

about 10% of the population in Ireland are redheads, which is the second largest percentage of readheads in the world (right after Scotland). i mean that's the twice the percentage of people who are non-white in Ireland, so you are more than twice likely to see a redhead than a man of African decent. which is a phenomenally large number when compared world average of 1%, and bare in mind that if you live in South America, Africa and Asia the percentage drops to 0%.

 

though, to put this in perspective, the majority of redheads are, of course, clustered towards the north of Ireland, because they are largely the decendents of Scandinavian raiders who first invaded Scotland and the Scottish Isles and then carried on into Ireland. the southern Irish are more likely to be dark haired from their Spanish/Celtic heritage. and as the Leprechaun is supposed to be part of the fairy-folk that inhabited the island before the Celtic settlement (which was before the scandinavian settlers), it would seem highly improbable that such a being would have redhair (as it is not a significant characteristic of the being itself, unlike say, a Red Cap's red cap).

 

but as i say, that's just being pedantic.
