Questions from a Old Wolf concerning Rhinos

It’s been a very long while since I played my wolves. Each time I go and try something new, they always seem to pull me back. With the advent of the fifth edition and new marine dex, a lot has changed. I read over the FAQ a while ago but that still left me with some questions concerning the army list.

From your experiences what has been the points cost of the rhino and razorback? I was told by a red shirt to use the new (cheaper) points cost, but I now that several forums argue this a lot. I was hoping to find out what the general consensus was especially in a GW tournament setting. Also do they hold 10 or 12 now?

Am I correct to assume that the drop pod is the same points cost as the new codex?

well before bran gets here with his sock i would like to point out the FAQ at the top of the page found HERE. also the search can show that we have talked a lot about this here and here(this one is about razorbacks more so....) and this one kinda covers the whole codex. i found those in the first few pages with "rhino" as a search word.

i hope bran doesn't go to hard on you, you just have to understand that after about 4+ months of "what does a rhino cost?", "Why should I play Wolves?", "When is the new 'dex coming out?" and "what do we get from the new C:SM?" it gets old fast and usually people get annoyed. search is your friend, as are any stickied threads.

EDIT*

in short most people agree that they cost 35 points, and hold 12.

Thanks,

I was trying to sneak a question at work. My boss isn’t a fan and the environment is tightly controlled and computer use is being clamped down on. Any links tend to crash my internet explorer and I randomly get kicked off with a big warning that “This site contains material concerning Games”

*holsters the sock*

Ullr, you could at least capitalize my name ya know... otherwise you'll be getting the ES upside the head next. ;)

But yer, if my Rulez Pack senses are right, the German FAQ says to use the new costs and whatnot. But since it's GW, they manage to feth up the English one and leave us at the old costs. Just go over it with your TO/opponent pre-game to figure it out. Perhaps you can learn a little German and bring that FAQ as backing? Mine is a bit rusty, so I don't dare.

Stop saying Feth Rune-Priest! ;)

Yes, we go off of 35 points, the German and French FAQs say it, so I'd say print one of them out as well.

My area, all of MT as far as I can tell, goes by the rules and points in the new C:SM.... after all its identical vehicles already taken from there.... And as the french FAQ says it, and we get a few canadian players now and again....

Its kind of like how we use the rules for drop pods, but on the points costs.... SW pay the points.

in short most people agree that they cost 35 points, and hold 12 (????).

If no one else is going to say it... they only hold ten! models for 35 pts, and use the point cost for your upgrades from the c: SM too. (meaning 15pts for extra armor, not 5)

I'm not sure who your gaming friends are but I wish mine were that nice. Twelve in a rhino sure would be sweet.

Just some FYI for ya, coming from the IT world of corprate policy. They track every time you even try to access a non "approved" site. So just so you know, that they know every time you try and do access such sites.

and they are paying you to work rather than further your hobby during work time after all. Still, I'm sure that you only do this in your lunch break - I work for myself so give myself the appropriate permission
