Fausto2071
is it at all possible, that being trapped for so long in there that the primarch could be horribly mutated like the wulfen? A daemon prince practically? what do you think? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165921-leman-russ-and-the-warp/ Share on other sites
JEFF4i
Not likely. All the Primarchs that are daemon princes chose to be so. Leman is just kickin butt along the way and keeping true to his vows. Durfast Spiritwolf
Wulfen aren't mutants in the 'traditional' sense. 'Normal" mutations are caused by evolution/genetic deviation or the intervention of the Chaos powers whilst the Curse is a by-product of the SW's gene seed. Beyond the exceptional circumstances of Madox's hugely elaborate spell in Wolf's Honour, the Curse can manifest anywhere and susceptibility to it does not increase due to proximity of the Immaterium. Members of 13th Company described in C:EOT and Wolf's Honour do not suffer from mutations but, as one would expect, after 10,000 years or so, some have fallen to the Curse and now fight as Wulfen. So, in my opinion, no, he will return in the same condition as he left but minus a few bits of kit he's left around the place and which has since been recovered: His spear, armour etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165921-leman-russ-and-the-warp/#findComment-1953268 Share on other sites
LoneSniperSG
His spear never left with him. He left the old pigsticker on Garm as part of a vow. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165921-leman-russ-and-the-warp/#findComment-1953297 Share on other sites
Bran Scalphunter
Me, I like to think that this is Russ. Not a Wulfen, but something beyond... to take a bit from D&D (god, it's so useful. What did I do before I started playing?) I think he'll be more of the Primal Beast. The great amalgamation of fangs, fur, and claws that all beasts are but mere shadows of. Basically, he'll come back a really kickass Werewolf of DOOOM! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3511/3182226847_aa5a263d7a.jpg?v=0 Let's say Wulfen is #2 at the bottom, Wulf Guard/Lord is #3, Russ is the last one, and that's his size compared to the rest. Grey Mage
Eh I sincerely doubt that if a Primarch came forth and said "Excuse me, mister high lord... move over" theyd do much about it... or could once his identity was confirmed. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
i dunno, i see any challange to the High Lords not going easy... especially if they declare russ a traitor. my friends and i have debated this, and we all agree on the same answer. regardless of who wins, the imperium would shattered. Zalmoxis
I wonder if any of the other more unorthodox chapters would assist the Space Wolves if any altercation between them and the High Lords occurred... Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
from the debate, it would be many of the first founding chapters (and their immediate offshots) rallying to russ, whereas the more recent chapters stay loyal to the imperium. russ's return would have effects on both the navigators and mechanicus. the guard would favor russ , due to his being awesome and not wasteful of lives, and the reputation the Space Wolves have to the common man of the Imperium. the big decider, and i hate to say this, is where the ultramarines would go. they have enormous authority and repect of both space marines and normal imperial citizens. the Inquistion would largely fall in line with the High Lords, but i can see a small amount of them breaking to Russ (say no more than 25%). this would leave the high lords with the "loyal" mechanicus, inquisition, guard and space marines. the Custodes themselves could end the matter quickly by meeting Russ. they could verfy russ for who he is and remoive the HIgh Lords on one swipe. or so my groups says. brother-sargent-jacob
I would tend to think, if Russ did show back up a larger majority of the chapters would side with the wolves than one would think. Grey Mage
Including the ultramarines. I dont care for them personally, but the two are brothers... not close brothers but still. You know russ would do what he could for his stasified sibling and the emperor. I think the biggest thing would be ascertaining that hed remained untainted after all this time. A few inquisitors, the custodes, and some rune priests later and hed have his seat on the High lords council. clanfield
add to the broth that a lot of chapters would take issue with "the space wolves" being called traitors and would take it as a afront to the astartes as a whole the bonds to the primarchs are at the core of astartes faith as it were but you all presume that russ would want to take control of the imperium thats just not his style hes a combat leader like dorn in that regard on a side note could the union of the two socks not destroy the bonds of reality if unleashed at the same time  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165921-leman-russ-and-the-warp/#findComment-1953945 Share on other sites

Grand Master Tyrak
Wolf Lord Kieran Posted Today, 05:05 AM i dunno, i see any challange to the High Lords not going easy... especially if they declare russ a traitor. Actually, any returning Loyalist Primarch still has the right to be heard in the High Lords. Sort of a second job, so to speak. ;) Besides, the Inquisition won't be judging whether he's corrupted or not. That would be left to the incorruptibles, the Grey Knights. If they say he's untainted, not even the High Lords can challenge that finding. Then they have to let him join in their debates. :P Carnage will no doubt ensue. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165921-leman-russ-and-the-warp/#findComment-1954180 Share on other sites
Jonny Wolf
Ha! I could only imagine blessed Russ having a 'friendly' debate with the High Lords. Demogerg
Hes the cloth wrapped stranger whos leading the 13nth company. Beef
Whether we like to admit it or not If Russ did ever come back he would be declared traiter and shut away in a lab for the rest of his days. The High Lords would not back him, Hell other SM chapters would not back him. How can they be sure he is Russ. They have no loyalty to him. DeffWolf
why would russ wnt to plant his hairy ass on the high lord council anyways? most other marine chapters would back him, AND if he did come back most likely hed go and give that medicine thingy from the tree of life to the emperor. kil78
You are forgetting that russ left on a mission, to find a cure for the Emperor, Russ would not return with a vow unfufilled, so russ coming back means you get the big E back as well, possibly other loyal primarchs as well, if it was in his power he would not leave guilliman or johnson to rot Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165921-leman-russ-and-the-warp/#findComment-1955790 Share on other sites
