Appo
Evening all, Well after a non productive easter weekend I decided to start churning some marines out this afternoon. The first is my Sternguard Sgt - the highlights most definitely need touching up Followed by my custom built Chaplain - I am incredibly pleased with this guy :) Let me know what you think! Happy Easter everyone! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165927-sternguard-sgt-chaplain-conversion/ Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
honestly, id add some robes to the chaplains' chest plate, it always looks awkward just having the robe bottoms (makes me envision it as a skirt, if anything ) looks good overall, keep up the good work. Brother Gothard
I actually like the look of the 'skirt' only. I also really like your paint scheme. AdeptusDavidus
I'm really digging your paint scheme. Have you considered maybe adding just a touch of green to your black, and using a greenish-grey to highlight? I think that would unify the model a little more, while still retaining your (quite snazzy) paint scheme. Appo
Thanks for the c&c guys, I'll probably use some greenstuff on the chaplain to make some robes, but other than that his chest plate will stay exposed, and Davidus thanks you certainly made a good point there, I think I'll chuck some green ink into the mix! Thanks again guys. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165927-sternguard-sgt-chaplain-conversion/#findComment-1953859 Share on other sites
Drudge Dreadnought
Isn't that the paint scheme of The Purge, the nurgle renegade chapter? Appo
Nah, my scheme is "inverted" compared to the purge - they have black bodies, green heads, shoulders & lower legs. see - http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/thumb/4/4e/The_Purge_Marine.JPG/180px-The_Purge_Marine.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165927-sternguard-sgt-chaplain-conversion/#findComment-1953872 Share on other sites
Draakur
I like this, I've been toying with a chapter with very similar armour, but with gold in the place of the green. The Purge appear to be in the same colours with the locations inverted. +edit+ Oops, beaten by OP. Drudge Dreadnought
Ah, that's right. Its a good scheme. As for a critique on the painting, i'd make your highlights a bit less extreme and put a wash on that green to make it a bit less pastel.
