Ramora Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 So I'm thinking about putting some sort of iconography on each of the large flat surfaces. Now I ask how much is too much or is there such a thing for Chaos? I don't want the Titan to look too busy if you know what I mean. Like multiple stars of chaos or icons of the four gods. My idea right not is one god on either the shin and thighs and then the same on the side of the shoulders. I would put stars or partial stars on the back, top of shoulders and groin. The other panels I would fill in with arrows or something "scary", like a face/skull or something. Now do you think that would be too much or is that too little or what? I would make all of these icons out of plasticard.. just an fyi. Also does anyone know of a filler that would be good to use to fill cracks between pieces or plasticard? I don't think I wanna use green stuff or brown stuff because that would be a lot and I don't know how well it would work. I'm looking for something more the consistency of bondo, which I may end up using but it dries too fast and is pretty messy. I guess I want something that's softer than brown of green stuff but dries hard, is sandable and dries at room temperature. Any input you guys have would be great!! This is what I got right now but I'm look for ideas if anyone has any. I'm pretty set on the left side but the right side(face) I'm not too sure about. I'm not try to be too specific in the iconography as the owner wants it to be a Titan dedicated to all the chaos gods and is planning on adding bits to it. The icons I put on there a off centered on purpose if you were wondering. wiplash Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 the longer teeth + rivets + the arrow looks like the best right hand configuration there for sure i think it would look cool to have half a face on one side and the chaos star on the other that would look great will you be modelling the face at all? i wouldn't have said it was neccessary (i think just elevating the facial area with plasticard would be enough) but if you have skills that could look amaaaazing hmmm chaosy things... spikes trophies anything to do with death nastyness and destruction basically maybe a small diorama for effect (there is definately enough room!!) also do you have the painting skills to paint skulls on the background of those panels? just subtle and low detail with the faces and stuff over the top but that would look ace ive seen it done before ill try and find a pic EDIT# found it!!! http://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics8/img437536920ea85.jpg im pretty crtain you wont be able to paint that well seeing as 99.999999999999999999999999999999% of us can't ^_^ but if you werent feeling confident or cba (like me!!!! :blush:) im sure it wouldn't be too dificult to create a decal sheet and print whole A4 pages and then cut them to the panels correct size then if you put down a black base coat beforehand and then add all details and plasticard, green stuff and spikes etc afterwards it could look brill anyway thats just my mind running riot :yes: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thanfully I am not doing the painting! I would love do do that skull decal idea though! If i had enough modelling putty of some sort I would probably try to raise the face but as for right now it will just be plasticard. Any who I did some work. If you can keep up this speed the Dark Gods will have some serious support soon! Poor Mechanicus, building Titans cost hunderds sometimes thousands of years. Here you are building one in a timespan of a couple of months. About the Chaos star in the eye: If your greenstuffskills are half as good as your plasitcardwork imo you should mould an eye. I thought about a tail but it don't think it will be pratical for gaming/storage reasons. I'm still brainstorming head ideas but probably something deemon or skull-esk.
