I've done some more work with a second Zerker and did a black wash over both. I think they look better, but a bit more highlighting could help.

As always, larger pics can be found at Meandering the Dune Sea

hmm well i think your paintjob is clean and the scheme itself good, but imho there's something missing. ?!

i think those minis don't seem to be living, if you know what i mean ?! .. .

.

as you already mentioned, maybe adding some highlights here and ther would help.

further i think it might look good if you wash parts of the mithril with e.g. flesh wash.

or maybe changing the eyecolor to a bright blue or glooming green ?!.

another thing that could look great is to add some white flames on the empty purple areas. like LOD, but just white or codex grey with white highlights.

.

and maybe also changing the basedesign could bring more life into those minis. if you want to have a grey base, i would try to give it more structure by adding stones, skulls oder some other kind of floorstructure. if you just don't want to have it green, i can also recommend a mixture between green and brown grass + smal grey stones here and there, to make the ground look rough and unfertile.

but as i've said in the beginning: the paintjob itself is quite good, and only the scheme needs to be improved a bit ...

Here are two more. he one on the left I finished up the silver and red detailing tonight, and now just needs some touch-ups, highlights and a dark wash to give it some depth. The one on the right was completed over the weekend. I did use the washes and some highlighting, and I think it turned out alright. I'm still getting used to the washes.
