Loyalist succumbing to the Dark Gods

Recommended Posts

Renegades, Traitors and Warp Fiends I require you assistance. ;)

I am currently a Blood Angel player but shall sound be dabbling with some Chaos Daemons (not Power Armour I know) but I've also seen the awesomeness that is Abaddon's stat-line. ;)

Is there a legal and effective way of combining some Khorne Daemon goodness (I already have my obligatory Bloodthirster) with the Despoiler in an army and which side of the army should be the dominate force? The Daemons or the Black Legion Marines?

Many thanks in advance.

Ah, but he can.

There's a catch, though.

It's not your soul that these daemons want, no, the Daemonicae Genericum want to suck up your points.

They also suck.

Enlighten me please. Obviously it sounds like it may be a very small, expensive army but it's just something I fancy doing for fun

You can use Abby and daemons, but just the generic daemons in the csm dex. You can still use bloodletters and bloodthirster models put they will have generic daemon stats.

Basicly you have to decide if you want to play abby and csm's with some daemons or an all daemon army using the daemon dex (w/out Abby), in which case you should go down to the daemon forum.

And like the 1st guy said you can do anything you want in apoc. (which is one of the many reasons I don't play it)

Lesser daemons in chaos marine codex is a role-filler. 2 daemons per 1 marine if you use rhino delivery+upgrades. Two 5+ inv save wounds per 3+ regular save, with perks and drawbacks that are about even. (Double the attacks, but no shooting for daemons). Plus they are a simple objective taker and fearless, so they can be hard to deal with especially against power weapon melee forces like banshees.

They are a bolster unit, nothing more. The greater daemon in the chaos codex is lesser statted, and with the 30+ point champ you sacrifice the 100 points you spend on it to possess your model might be a bit too much compared to the prince+psychic power options. If you run 2 princes and want a GD as well, then its a bonus.

They are role-class models for C:CSM. The daemon codex works entirely different, and the khorne model hated most are the bloodcrushers. (Tip for the first wave, send your toughest stuff first, not the numerous)

Enjoy.

Welcome to the warp! I know how you feel, I have just come back to the hobby due to a hiatus that ended with the 3rd edition (possibly 2nd oooh er) codex where you could still get each of the powers' daemons at will. I to find this the suckiest change to the new version. I don't like it but wasn't yet aware that it took Apoc to play them side by side... at which point, show me the way to that book...
