Lost and the Damned

Mutt-Man!

Ogryns=Mutants (decent now, somewhat)

Using Deathwatch Veterans rules= Regular CSM

Conscripts with that cool swarming rule with that character= Zombies/lesser mutants.

Tons of vehicles, IG-like of course, psyker squads can be made to look chaotic.

Not much in the way of figuring out daemons, but if you went with deathwatch, then kroot mercenaries are also availible. They do well with their boltgun-like weapons and melee potential. Can also transport them inside their aircraft, so that is a bonus. Kroot can be made to look daemonic, like possessed guard or something.

What do you guys think? (Who have seen the IG codex) Is it possible you think? Hard for me to tell... I dont want to use inquisitorial armies with GK/SoB being the "chaos units" so I shied away from that project. =\

Depending on how good the codex turns out, I am considering such a project when I'm done with my Chaos Space Marines 2000 pts list.

I always liked the Lost and the Damned army list and with the amount of plastic sets out, this could be a very fun army to make. I would make a infantry-heavy army (hoho, what a wonder with IG) with at least two valkyries (Gotta love them), CSM as Deathwatch and some large mutants used as Ogryns.

I've been running a "count as" LatD list using the IG codex ever since the EoT rules were superseded.

What I had was:

IG command squad

WH Inq Lord + retinue

3 DCAs (converted deamonettes)

3 Independant commissars (FW models)

6 Ogryn (formerly big mutants)

IG Platoon (formerly traitors)

40 strong Conscript squad (mutants)

2 x 10 WH Stormtroopers (FW renegades)

2 Sentinels

LRuss

The new codex looks fairly handy and the army will remain fairly similar. Probably use veterans rather than allied STs or might look at using the penal legion rules.

The psykers also look potentially fun.

Will probably knock up some conversions for a couple of the special characters (Chekov sp? and possibly the Tallarn guy)

Sly Marbo is wicked :)

65 points for Demolition Charge with BS 5, and then enemy must either charge him, or waste unit to surpass his 2+ cover save. He is just as sick :)

Codex is fun for LatD. Allied sisters of battle (cannoness) could help :)

Some assassins + Sister HQ + Sly + Penal Legion + Grey Knights and you have nice close combat. Adding sisters of battle as mutants (act of faith as sudden mutation ;)) and you have instant :cuss. Oh, and remember about your rough riders as leaping mutants.

Hey,

Any one seen the two traitor guard lists in the imperial armour books?

The first Vraks Renegades sucked all form, just like that ridiculous "LatD" Formation from Jervis.

Basically, we're expected to pay >IG prices for models with <IG stats, and just shut up.

Oh, and slavishly adhere to the Imperial Unit Organisation, while we're at it.

Newsflash: Under 40kA, I can already Ally every Unit in the whole IG dex *at cost*.

I can choose as many or as few as I like - as long as they're whole Units.

So what, I wonder, was the point of all that FW/GW bluster?

I haven't seen the "Nurglesque" Vraks II entry yet, but I have one of my own already.

I can virtually guarantee that the stats will be preferable to what's in IA6 -

They're 9pt IG with nades and a 4+ ASave (Ie, "scaly" from the old dex).

There. See how easy that was?

Playa

Doesnt help me much... I really liked how I could deck out my champions in the 3.5 and relied heaily on the "Infiltrate" special rule. IG and Ally really dont cut it for me so I sold most of what I had. Thats why I walked away from Chaos... I maybe back though B)
