Grimtooth
Haha, not another Storm Shield question!!! So I had my Rune Priest tonight in reserve for outflank versus a SM player. After his deployment, he infiltrated his scout squad right onto an objective in the middle of the board. I was about to say that he needed to roll for infiltration because I had a Chooser of the Slain, but then stopped myself because my Rune Priest was not on the board, in reserve, and outflanking. Does it matter if my Rune Priest is on the board or in reserve for the Chooser of the Slain to force an infiltration roll? Codex: Space Wolves says as long as a Space Wolves army has a Rune Priest with a Chooser of the Slain, a roll is needed to infiltrate. However at the time, my army on the table only consisted of some bikes and Fenrisian wolves. Spacefrisian
No it doesn't matter he should have rolled for that unit to infiltrate before you had started putting down any unit. Grimtooth
No it doesn't matter he should have rolled for that unit to infiltrate before you had started putting down any unit. Ok. Wasn't a big deal for me at the time, but will use it from now on. Ullr Direfang
basically and IIRC, it flies out before the battle ever begins to look for advanced units or good hidy-holes, which is why it just has to be in the army. Grey Mage
Its kinda like the Eldar Autarchs "master strategist" ability, or any of the SM special characters Chapter Tactics. Ant
Does the Rune Priest also get +1 Attack if he also has a plasma pistol and a Frost Axe? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/166068-chooser-of-the-slain/#findComment-1956083 Share on other sites
Bran Scalphunter
Does he have a pistol and a close combat weapon? Plasma Pistol = pistol, frost axe = power weapon = close combat weapon with special rules. So yes, he gets +1A for 2CCW but not +1 for the CotS as well. Grey Mage
In other words... No, he doesnt. It counts as having two close combat weapons when you have a pistol, so as stated in the wargear it just doesnt stack.
