Orbital Strikes

I've got a question on Orbital Strikes.

I've noticed on some posts that an Inquisitor is required to be able to take OS as a heavy choice, but I can not find any thing in the codex saying this is the case. There is a thing in the fluff on the side that says Inquisitors can call for an OS. In the entries for Deamonhosts, Death Cult, and Assassins clearly state that an Inquisitor is required to take be the OS does not.

Am I missing something here?

Depends in which codex you're using. The WH codex requires an inquisitor, the DH codex doesn't.

This may seem a little odd, but it makes sense fluffwise. The sisters of battle don't have their own ships, so only an inquisitor would be able to call down a strike. However, the Grey Knights do have ships, so could theoretically use them to call down an orbital strike without the need for an inquisitor to be present. Personally I think the Wh should be able to say the inquisitor is just on the ship or something, but alas they can't.

Me too :HS: I'ts just one of the random things I picked in my long time on these forums. Off topic slightly but it's amazing what you can learn from just looking around, I can make a chaos space marine list and play a game with it despite having never read their codex
