Here's my first WIP post for the Call, Mk 3. Just some of the parts of my Rhino I've started on:

The interior console:

Driver checking out the situation:

An HK missile launcher (I love these things!):

Looking good! Looks like your skills are getting better.

Thanks, guys!

The big leap for me with these bits was the blending of the hatch glass. I feel like it came out quite well. I forgot to put the white "hot point" on the top right corners, so I'll have to go back and do that.

I'm relly liking how the interior of the Rhino looks as I paint more and more parts of it. It's going to look sweet when completed.

If I find the time, I might do a freehand litany or prayer on that door plate of the console. Looks kind bland right now.

First of all I'm not a good painter (far from it).

And I will certainly took inspiration from your work (your console look great!) to paint the inside of my GK LR, but if I were you I would use some green ink on all the screen to make them more shiny/look like made of glass.

Tchezz.

That's a good tip! Even just a touch of gloss varnish might do the trick.

Second Update

I haven't made a ton of progress since my last post. I've been wiped out all this week, too sleepy at night to paint.

But, here's what I've accomlished:

Here's the interior of the top section:

http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/CoI3/interiortop.jpg

Just some basic white interior on the spots that will be visible once it's glued together. No reason to waste paint.

The removable stormbolter:

http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/CoI3/strmbolter.jpg

And then the hinged top hatches:

http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z43/goalie20/Warhammer%2040K/CoI3/topdoors.jpg

I used the wonderful tutorial in the Librarium to do all my hinging. Ruined a few side doors and top hatches doing it, but was eventually successful. I'll be adding some sort of freehand or symbol on these, just haven't decided what yet. I don't think i have the time or motivation for a mural yet. It'll probably be either a tactical arrow, or a big old Ultramarine symbol.

I've also got a basecoat of tan on the inside of one side panel, but you can see that later on when it's more complete.

Third Update

I powered through the last two nights, and managed to complete the remainder of my Rhino interior! So, I decided to see how everything looked with a dry-fit...

From the rear:

Again:

And from above:

I feel very good about this Rhino. Detailing the interior is very rewarding, and I'm sure it'll make a splash at my local shop, and hopefully on the table.

I'll glue it all tomorrow night, and then prime from there.

Thanks for the kind words, all. I'm really pumped to get this thing done. It'llbe my first new-mark Rhino, and my first model with interior detailing, magnets, and hinged doors! I refurbed an older Razorback/Rhino chassis before, but it really pales in comparison to this one. So much more detail and various gubbins here.

I think the driver may have been glued on a little, um, wrong...

When using that particular accessory, you glue it from underneath the hatch, not down on top of it.

Hopefully you can detach it to correct it, if you feel it’s necessary of course, it is your Rhino obviously; I just thought I’d give you a heads up.

Other than that, looking very good, I don’t bother painting my Rhino interiors (as most people will never get to see them), but you have done a really smashing job on that!

Keep up the good work!

I'm afraid he's right  But I don't think it matters too much  Mind you, it seems he is missing a pair of arms :P

Very nice interior there, looking forward to seeing the rest of the Rhino!

Heh, "oops". Oh well. He's just a spot filler for now anyways :). Something to fill gaps when I play and haven't painted completely yet, I suppose. I'll have to dry-fit another one and see how the two stack up.

The Rhino is now complete! Though I might touch up the Ultra symbol on the rear door to make it a little fancier someday.

Next on the block is my counts-as Sicarius:

Green or Gold reath thingies... Is it wreath? Anyway frickin' leaves that is what the Ultras use it is the greek influence and all that. Shouldn't be hard to paint.

Yeah, i was thinking of a laurel wreath or something. The symbol definitely needs some more kick to it. Plain symbols are ok when they're small on shoulderpads or top hatches, but one this big needs more ornamentation.

More progress made!

I completed my counts-as Sicarius, who can also stand in as a Chapter Master, Captain, or Librarian.

Some of the details get lost in the lighting, but I'm rather proud of his cloak. The blends aren't as stark as they appear. This was my first rty at something akin to wet-blending on a large area, and I feel it came out quite well for a large area.

The front of his blade looks nice by my standards, though the back leaves a bit to be desired. I got sick of fudging with it, so it's complete as far as I'm concerned. Gotta move on to other projects, like this bike...
