Ohmigosh, every detail is so beautifully shaded! I can't believe those are the same models I sloppy mopped, lol! Well done! I especially loved the fleur de lys tatoo, I wanted to do those but didn't have the skill.

Emperor bless you, may these great deeds outlive us, into the farthest future.

Frankie

Not much to say other than....

The Gold/Silver scheme with the White/Red robes works so well! I wish I had thought of breaking up the colors on my rhinos like you did to your immolator. All in all, great job!

Empty Bolter Clip

Those models are really quite excellent, I salute you! Though I do feel that the bases could do with a bit more attention as they're not to the same high standard of the models it sticks out a bit. I like the Immo, it's very distinctive and those Arbites look cool.

Could you share how you painted the Sisters and Arbites? Did you use washes or is it pure painting skill?

Nice paint scheme, and really well executed!

I've got one question for you : I don't know if it's the picture or what, but your gold look like none I know...

I mean it look like you've use 1 gold colour, a black wash, and the same gold colour on top... but what color? It don't look like my shining or burnished gold, but something more yellow...so How do you achieve it?

Tchezz.

First off, very nicely painted army cleanly painted, nice little extra details and freehand work. I think you should work on the bases to the models more. Bases can really bring up or down an army depending on how much effort you put in.

Looks like a black undercoat -> tin bitz first layer -> tinbitz / dwarf bronze mix -> dwarf bronze -> dwarf bronze / burnished gold -> burnished gold.

I'm sure ive painted a similar colour with that kinda layering. Though I wouldnt be surprised if I was off considering the weird and wonderful ways the citadel metallics work.

Wow, that looks really good, especially considering it's white. I think that you have hit a good point where when you have an assembled army, it will just be awe inspiring. Oh, and nice conversions. That is something that is unfortunately neccissary with our models but you have done it well. Keep up the good work! :P

well thanks so far for the compliments

to answer some of the questions:

the inquisitor is the emperors champion (of course) the head is from the empire fantasy general kit plus odds and ends from the bit box

for painting all models were black undercoated

1.base coat- metal=boltgun gold=dwarf bronze c loth=scab red/bleached bone skin=dwarf flesh

2.wash- metal-badab black gold=badab black/ogryn flesh cloth/skin=ogryn flesh

3.1st layer- redone in base coat color

4.2nd layer- metal=mithral silver gold=burnished gold cloth= skull white trim=bloodred then sunburst yellow mix for highlight skin=elf flesh

(arbite armor done as i did the cloth)

immulator was done similar

simple steps but its takes me awhile

well for the bases i was trying to get the look of the sisters on a ruined world bringing the light of the emperor

kinda like the conflict between warm and cool colors and to bring out the models more

any simple ideas that i may add to the bases are of course appreciated

Thanks for the explanations hysteria, I find that simplest steps are always the best even if they take a long time to do! ;)

Regarding the bases, I just feel that having part of the base "empty" (ie no modelling sand or anything) makes the base look incomplete. The rubble looks good, maybe you could paint on or use a bit of plasticard on the "empty" bits to look like tiles of the floor or pavement? Then it'd look like they're fighting down a road with ruined buldings or something similar and would look pretty cool I think.

Very nice. Love the details on the Sororitas. The Arbites remind me of my shotgun attempts before I bought FW kits.

My only concern is the basing. You have to add more detail and interesting bits if you're going to do rubble/ruins/industrial. If you really can't get any motivation you might want to invest in resin scenic bases...
