Yep, still working on it, I decided no top knot ^_^ I dunno, I got something like 2 Tactical/Dev Squads (10-20 Marines), 1 Termie Squad (5) and 1 Vet Squad (5), plus possibly a Dread and a Command Squad. But knowing myslef that's still far off...

Hey guys and gals!

Now, update again. Here's something I'm particularly proud of. It took me a long time to collect the Bitz I needed. Additionally, the model is heavily Green Stuffed, which was also a hell of a work. I present you with my very first Mk3 "Iron" Armour suit!

I'm gonna be using him as a veteran sergeant for one of my tactical squads. So far, he is still missing his left arm, as I have yet to find one with a power sword (anyone got ideas where I could find one?). So, what do you think?

Update!

Couple of new marines coming along in addition to the old unfinished ones...

The old veteran sarge...

And, finally, my first heavy weapons marine with Autocannon! Thanks for the tips guys, I decided to use the sentinel Autocannon, and it worked quite well!

Furthermore, a question:

I'm planning on giving one of my marines a rocket launcher, and in the Collected Visions I found a few pics of Pre-Heresy marines and soldiers using Pre-Heresy rocket launchers:

Now, the question:

Does anyone have an idea where I could get these, whether there are any models of these in existence, or how I could make them quick and easy?

Help would be much appreciated!

Now for you to scour e-Bay, young Padawan.

And cry because you have to use those hideous things... Honestly, I'd GS one. Your models are sculpted well, and it shouldn't be too hard to get that look by hand...

By the way, how did you get the AOBR missile-launcher head off? I got one off, but complete messed up the back of the helmet in the process...

Thanks for the answers guys.

Argh, looks horrible the old launcher. I'm contemplating simply using the standard one, since that one also features in the Collected visions. Or I could go the middle way and use the Chaos Space Marine ones...Oh well...

@Lord Noble:

That a*s-b***h of a head...I sawed it off, then carefully cut and filed down the back part, but it still looked rather bad, so I green-stuffed a little and made sure the head sat in such a way that the back neck guard covered most of it. Did you manage to make it look good? Any pics?

  • 2 weeks later...

Alrighty, here's an update:

Finished a further MkVI marine, and almost finished the MkVI vet sarge as well as the MkIV Plasma gunner. My favourite, the MkIII vet sarge, is also slowly coming along.

Sorry about the bad quality of the pics.

Stud-head painting in progress. I'm quite proud of this MkV helmet, though he's a son of a b***h to paint...

Thanks guys.

Yep, I'm still rather a novice with Green Stuff, but I think I've done satisfactory jobs so far. Plus, in my experience, Green Stuff often looks a lot better when painted, so it doesn't matter if I made minor mistakes, I can just correct them somewhat with the painting.

Thanks Shaw :(

Yep, the IW torso could work, but I haven't been able to get hold of one, and besides that I hate using metal - it's expensive and the paint wears off so easily...I prefer plastic and resin :)

Ok, update!

Though the legs didn't turn out quite as nice as I was hoping, I'm still satisfied :) Whatcha think of this MkII suit?

Update:

Couldn't resist painting my MkII right there and then, so here's the results. He's still missing arms and backpack, since I'm still not sure which weapon to give him. The painting is about 60% or so done, the details are all still WIP.
