I'm asking for advice, this list is pretty well set in stone, though I may change the Long Fangs out for something else. What do you think of this list? Help is appreciated though tactics and what to look out for is something I am willing to read over.

 

I really hope to do well by the Wolves, so hopefully my list, modeled after one from the Fourth Edition main book for 40K is the core for this list...

 

Please reply and tell me what you think I should be willing to change, as I intend to win, same as the rest of the people showing up at the LA Bunker.

well first off, in a big game, and if it is an 'ard Boyz tournament, you need more troops. at least beef up the grey hunters, i would probably try to get one more unit of grey huinters in there. i would personally say drop one of the dreads for something else. not knowing what you have to work with makes it kinda hard to suggest things. i would also say drop the long fangs for a predator. you can't "hide" it as well but points for points, it is more worth it. but if you drop one of the dreads you might be able to keep them and get some other goodies. and one thing i noticed: why don't you have more power fist on you bloodclaws? IMHO if you are going to run that many speeders, at least two of them should have multimeltas.

 

before i say what i would do with the list as you have it, i want to ask you what you would do with it against a shooty army, mechanized army, and a close combat army?

I'd have to know what I was up against, since the biggest problem would likely be orks and their massive numbers.

 

Mech I'd shoot at with the Multimeltas, and the Las, the rest of the lists I'd just try my best, it's a list I like though it's not easy to win with it's pretty much free on models for GH's, can't add more Blood Claws since I don't have more models.

 

It's the troops I thought I'd have enough of, and I think it's supposed to be 'Ard Boyz in it's play style...

I typically don't like fielding dreadnoughts unless they're in drop pods, in which case multi meltas work better than lascannons.

I like straight power fists, but others swear by adding a pw to each unit of BC's. I tend to let my IC's strike at init and leave the claws to clean up.

Not a big fan of the small, expensive scoring units here. They're scoring, so your enemy WILL shoot at them, they've not much in the way of ablative wounds, and once you're through those wounds you've got 28 point or more models with 1 wound and no inv save. I'd ditch the pistols. Maybe the Extra Armor on the Razorbacks as well and consider boosting unit size (and switching to rhino transports)

 

Fast Attack

Speeders are better with single Multi Melta for tank hunting duty. You've plenty of anti infantry fire elsewhere in the list and SW struggle with bringing enough anti tank that isn't a powerfist attached to a determined Blood Claw.

 

Heavy

Not sure on Extra Armour, but I can chalk this one up to playstyle. Single Raider will probably get fragged though.

 

Long Fangs, 4 LC

Just take a second, normal, land raider. It'll last longer.

There's a lot of expensive infantry in that list for my tastes. Were I to play it as written, I'd keep everything that hasn't got a 48" gun (except your Plasma dreads) in reserve and bring them on in turn 2. This'll give your dreads some time to soften enemy anti tank batteries and the enemy some time to close range with you before you counter charge with tons of blood claws. I'd not even pop the Grey Hunters out except in rare occasions. Maybe consider swapping their Razorbacks for rhinos so you can drive up and fire those meltas and plasma.
