got my sob army working together now

Recommended Posts

okay well earlier i had posted about me getting into SoB, no so far this is what i got:

1 canoness with plenty of toys.

2 squads of 10 sisters. both squads having a s. bolter and a flamer

1 5 girl seraphim squad with 2 inferno pistols

1 immolator

1 excorsist

now along with this army i plan on throwing in a GK hero

2 squads of about 8 GK, both squads armed with a psycanon and incinerators.

(with the possibility of taking more GK squads to fill out the fast attack option)

a callidus assasin

a vindicair assasin

and some death cult assasins.

now this is using my WH as a main force, havent rolled up the points, but i figured it gives me cheap and very effective firing lines, and some decent heavy support for tanks and such, and it it also gives me some hard hitting infantry and teleporting troops for counter assaults and movements. i will iron out the points later, but this is what i plan on using so far. does it sound good?

I'd try and get some better weapon options for you SoB - probably double flamer in each squad. Unfortunately that does leave you with left over storm bolter models, but seriously storm bolters have no place in a SoB infantry squad. If you use the SoB model holding the grenade you can just replace the bolter with a flamer - much cheaper than buying individual blisters.

I'd also reccomend putting them in rhinos or if possible, repressors. Those things rock (50pts each as per IA2 update).

Gk are cool but if you take them as fast attack for teleporting then they aren't scoring - leaving you with only 2 scoring units. Its a hard choice. Once the new IG codex comes out a platoon of inducted guard could fill this hole nicely (and cheaply points wise).

You will need an inquisitor for those assasains.

Lastly, I think twin hand flamers may work better than inferno pistols for the seraphim. The reason for this is that they are great with thier "hit and run" special rule, which you would be wasting by going tank hunting. Grab another exorcist for that.

Couple of points on using DH as an allied list (Ozybonza has pointed out some good ones already).

- You can only take one Ordo Assasin per army, not 2.

- To get both an Ordo Assasin and DCAs you will need to take an inquisitor or lord from your WH parent list as the list that buys the =][= unlocks the assasin - you can only have one inducted Elites selection, not to mention the fact that taking an inducted DH Lord would mean you couldn't take a GK hero...

i am just putting in some possible ideas, i posted all the assissins to show off what i had and readily available to use, and i definitely plan on getting rid of the Sbolters for something else, Sbolters are better off in GK and marine hands, i just havent gotten around to modifying those damnable metal models just yet, but i plan on throwing in a Hbolter and another flamer in each squad or something like that.

and even if i take 2 GK as fast attack, i still plan on taking 2 squads as troops to give myself some very tough and effective objective holders or counter assault units.

and as it stands i can jsut throw in an elite choice inquisitor and grab myself an assassin, i currently dont have much other than assassins and inquisitors that fill up my elite slots in either of my SoB or GK armies.
