Bitzbuilt Demon Machines

Recommended Posts

The second machine is basically just a rip-off of a Dognought (You can find loads of cool ones here, the one that sold me on the idea was the one of Bobpanda)

A tutorial could be quite hard to do for the first one, it's more or less built from scratch. I started off with a T made with sprue pieces and began adding Bitz that worked.

You just have to take some sprues and your bitzbox, two gallons of Plastic Glue and you're good to go ^^

Guide on bitz... you joker! I mostly used the Chaos Tank Sprue and the Ravenwing sprue. And some other stuff lying around XD

As said, I started by building the underlying structure with long pieces of sprue, then added the bitz that formed the front and back.

At the top, I added the tank commander body (the one where your marine only sticks his head out) as a neck for the head.

Next I added details to fill the biggest gaps and built shoulder guards from tank hatches.

Then I used a half rocket from the Vindicator kit and more sprue sticks to build the legs and feet and covered them up in bitz.

After that, I just added bitz where I thought they fit. I'm not very methodical about these things, I just have an idea and start to build.

You made me do it...

I just sat my exams and to blow off some steam, I started with my next completely bitz-built robot and made some step-by-step pictures of building the torso.

Like said, I start out with a T-shape and a place for the head to rest later:

Then I added larger pieces to cover the upper part of the back and started building up the chest and shoulders:

And the finished torso front:

The back still needs a bit of work. Once that's done, I'll start building the legs and finally the arms. This one will probably be about the size of the first one, maybe a bit bigger.

I also need help on what to use for a head! Any ideas?

Also needs a lot of work, have to make it look more chaosy.

No you don't. Make it loyalist! Then make them FIGHT!

No really, make it loyalist. And that's some great work, wish I had that many bitz.

I don't know about a hood, but the "single baleful eye" is a nice idea, Might build it with a Sentinel Searchlight or something like that.

@malika666: Coincidence, just found migsula's TWAR models on Dakka. They're really cool, but not really the feel I want to go with mine. My robots are more like Scrapyards coming to life, not systematically built battle machines.

@verpine: No, they'll all be Decepti-Khornes, no Loyalist laughing stocks ^^

No progress on Machine#3, but I built the big guys some tiny fire-support mutant-machines:

@Mods: Hope these are okay on this board (as Demons are okay, too). If not, I'll remove them of course.

One last double-post from me before I go into an early weekend.

And a little group photo for your entertainment:

Very nice. Shows how far a little imagination can go. Very inventive use of parts.

And a true Son of Chaos should never refer to Imperials as loyalists. A true loyalist is loyal to Chaos. Imperial dogs are tools.

Thanks! Though the lack of interest makes me wonder what I did wrong...

Picture Quality? The things not being painted? Just not that cool as I thought they were?

I think the lack of interest is down to people being more interested in the pictures. That said, I don't think people would want to make something like this without a step by step guide or they're lazy. It really does look like a complicated project.

But I think this is great, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I've tracked this topic for a few days now and I like seeing the progress you've made, so I apologise for not commenting earlier.

No... nothing wrong at all! :) Keep up the good work!

not a choas player but still find your creations intriguing, I've been watching this come along as well but as noted above was more interested in the pictures as I really don't plan on ever playing chaos  keep up the good work though they look sick and twisted....as all chaos things should .

Here I was, whining about not getting any comments, and when they finally arrive, I don't reply XD

Thanks a lot for the praise guys!

My bitz box is not that big, I just had a lot of leftover Vehicle accessory sprues left that needed using up. Now people like BobPanda, he's got a really huge bitzbox, he can just cut up some defilers and tanks to build a titan and stuff... That'd be a nice hobby-budget to have ^^

Unfortunately, during my summer holidays, nearly all my hobby-related projects are on hold, until I get back to my flat in vienna. But expect updates as soon as I get back there, maybe with more Work in Progress shots for all of you who want to try something like this, too.

Cheers,

Peter
