Inquisitor Xenthor
So its been awhile since i actually posted any of my work, and over the past couple days ive worked on quite a few new 40k projects (not all Power Armor related though.. >_> ), figured i would show em off to you guys and see what you think :D First off is just a squad of marines based off of a squad in Daemonclaw's 'Sorcerer Vauhl Harrak's Warband'.. the idea is that as vauhl loses troops to attrition on the field he uses a psychic power to raise dead marines ,and turn them on his foes.the powerful warp energy used floods the dead marines armour tearing the flesh from their bones leaving just a skeleton inside ,which will be a puppet for vauhls will I figured, in that sort of sence, why not bring back the most 'devout' of the Emperors followers, The Black Templars...*insert evil laugh here* These guys might turn into an actual usable squad in my up and coming DiY army..-if- i decide to turn them down the road of Chaos lol. Or i may remake them more to fit my army look...we'll see if that day comes along. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/c.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/b.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/g.jpg Now they're all still WiP's, they still need cleaning up, the 'floating' heads need to be lowered abit on some...but you guys get the basic idea. lol. For those that want to know what im using to make the heads 'float' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/a.jpg Its the little clear plastic nubs from flying bases.. (i have a crap load from making an all Cavalry Bretonian army) Now the next part is i guess kinda walking a fine line to be posting here...but it does include Power Armor, i Promise! But if you mods feel it doesn't belong, then ill take it down. Its my entry piece for a competition. "Aevarus's Last Stand" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/h.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/j.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/Joephus/i.jpg This still needs work...and im not %100 sure i like the marines stance. I was tempted to cut off his leg too...but i think the giant hole in his chest might be enough. So lemme know what you guys think on everything, any suggestions for positions, adding bits, whatever. lord_bunny
Your diorama's marine needs his legs posing, it looks really uncomfertable I'm afraid. It's nice to see an undead army, I'm on over 2000 points :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/166958-new-works-from-the-inquisitor/#findComment-1966833 Share on other sites
Captain Mike
First thing I thougt when I saw that diorama: Curb Stomp! I like the idea of the skull heads, gives them a very ghostly theme. Are they going to be painted ghostly, or like standard Black Templars? Inquisitor Xenthor
@Lord_Bunny - Yeah, the leg posing was one of my issues i had with it myself too. I cant really find my GS at the moment, so that's hindering it alot as well. Would a more, flat against the ground for the legs look better? @Captain Mike - Truth be told, i never really though about a paint scheme :) But now that you mention it, i suppose ill keep them as close to the Black Templar's as possible, but toss in a mix of Tzechy-goodness....how...im not sure yet xD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/166958-new-works-from-the-inquisitor/#findComment-1967527 Share on other sites
Brother Iencub
A suggestion, paint them like the Black Templars, but weather them heavily, seeing as they are nothing but skeletons now. You could also cut in the tabards so they look ragged and old. And perhaps using helmets on some, i can't really imagine everyone in a crusade going without helmets. lord_bunny
flat against the ground for the legs look better? try one lying to the side flat, and keep the other one the same, that appears more prone I think. A skeleton isn't gonna bother putting it back on. Lord Arkhand
Looks good but i would really repose the diorama marines legs as mentioned. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/166958-new-works-from-the-inquisitor/#findComment-1967860 Share on other sites
