JEFF4i
Okay, so I had mentioned this in some other threads and even made an army list that was pointless, why? Week 1: 1000 Points a side and 600 points in Apoc formation or Super Heavy. It was 6 Forces of Order (Black Templar, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, another Ultramarines, and Tau) vs 5 Forces of Disorder (2 orks, 2 Necron, and a traitor Guardsman). My list was a Wolf Priest, 10 grey hunters, and 4 Fenrisian Wolves in a LRC. 10 Grey Hunters in a Rhino. Fellblade (was allowed). I was trying to keep it simple, concise. Mission: Forces of Order descend upon a planet to try and coerce all the enemy into Imperial control, through force. We had two objectives; 1. Take down the orbital laser pestering our forces in space and on the ground. After turn 1 it could shoot at us scattering 3d6 10" pie plate, D strength. 2. Destroy the comm station to ensure that the enemy could not coordinate amongst themselves, specifically the Orkz and Guardsman, (not enough commissars in that regiment IMO, filthy Guardsman). Major points of our force: My Fellblade, a baneblade, and a shadowsword. Major points of their force: Knight Paladin, Stompa, Monolith formation, and that other ork thing, not the squiggoth (that woulda been sweet). Major considerations: We could deep strike, all that business, that's what won it for us. Tau dude essentially destroyed the orbital laser by himself, really nice guy, too quiet. Problem for the rest of us? Half the way from our side to theres was a difficult terrain hill, the other half bisecting it was a minefield. We could shoot the minefield, but still took valuable shots. If you lose your super heavy, its gone for the rest of the campaign unless you get a 5+ roll to get it back. If you lose your special characters or units they start from scratch, no experience awarded and all lost that you gained). Turn 1: We couldn't bring in our Super Heavies until turn 3, so I decided to just bring in my Rhino Hunters with 2 other Rhinos pushing the right side over the hill to attempt to gain some on that side. In addition, we only had a couple of Land Raiders out and I knew they'd bring a lot of fire, so I waited until turn 3 to bring it in with the Super Heavies, when I knew it wouldn't be shot at. Pretty uneventful turn, they took a couple of shots and didn't do anything, we shot the minefield (blue area) and my Rhino moved up the right side. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff178/JEFF4i017/Apr19Campaign01.jpg Turn 2: Pretty similar to turn one, took some casualties on each side. Squad of orkz died, Vindicare assassin died, but not much all things considered. In this picture you can see things from our side and 4 Land Raiders, haha. Grey Knight terminators...footslogging! They took their Land Raider in turn 2 (which he didn't recover at the end of the game, booo, so no more using it). The orbital laser is the thing in the back right, tin foil thingy. The Comm Station is that black thing to the left of it that goes up and out of the picture, big ole sucker. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff178/JEFF4i017/Apr19Campaign02.jpg Turn 3: This is where things got interesting, especially since we were the bottom of 3. Suprisingly, the Tau dude finally took out the Orbital Laser. They shot at us at the top of the turn, not really doing much. You can tell that the blue receded which was us shooting out that minefield. My Land Raider came in on the right side and moved right up on to the hill passing all its tests with flying colors. Once up there my Assault Cannon on it single-handedly decimated an entire Sentinal Squadron, which was really sweet. The Grey Hunters in the Rhino were already across helping the Ultramarine stave off some real nasty Necron Warriors and Guardsman. That unpainted Shadowsword is mine in the picture, which is now painted and has all the stuff for the WYSIWYG for a Fellblade, I'll try and get some pictures up. The copper front of the tank is the other Baneblade, and the Ultramarine Shadowsword is behind us with his greater range helping me fell the Stompa. This was the big decisive turn for us, as we completed one of our objectives. Sorry for fuzziness of picture, was getting ready to shoot my cannon at the Stompa (which scattered into a Chimeara and blew the sucker up). http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff178/JEFF4i017/Apr19Campaign03.jpg Turn 4: The enemy decided to follow a special rule for a tactical retreat...in other words, RUN! They could run any units but instead of 1d6, they could move 6 inches and then run 2d6. This was mostly to conserve their units and get some meager experience for them. The keys for us? Take down the void shields around the Comm Station and then destroy it, and hopefully take out as much things as possible. My Wolf Priest and his squad were thirsty for blood and engaged some Shoota Boyz, other Grey Hunters continued assisting our Brother-Marines. This is the turn where my Fellblade took one of the arms off the stompa as it tried to run away. My LRC took down one of the Void Shields as well, assisting his brothers and keeping focused while the Wolf Priest had his fun with Orkz. No picture, I forgot, haha. Turn 5: Enemy continued to run, we continued to shoot. Finally destroyed the comm station and the void shields around it. My Fellblade decided it wanted some Stompa, and we all rolled to destroy it. It took a structure point and got credit for an armour kill on it, much to my happiness. :) Game ended here. Enemy Accomplishments: They took out some of the assassins my teammates employed, and various other units. Our Accomplishments: Victory, took out Stompa before it could leave the field. My personally? Not one casualty. I took down a squad of Shoota Boyz, Sentinel Squadron, Stompa, some guardsman and about 6 Necron and didn't take any losses. :D Tomorrow it continues, I'll let ya know. Oh, and here's a picture of my Fellblade, Hróôvitnir (look it up, you'll see the relevence). Just painted her today, or started rather. I'm also getting a small pelt from a local taxidermist to put on it, hehe. Since I took it with my phone and it costs, I'm not going to show you all the detail but...the barrel says, "For The Allfather, For the Wolftime." It's been ordained with wolf talismens, pelts, I've got my Thunderwolf on there, obviously our Father's personal heraldry on the front of the tank, as you can see. I'll put something around it, not sure yet. The big black blob next to the cannon is the Demolisher, and if you look carefully on the underside of the Volcano cannon you'll see the co-axial Autocannon. I wanted to keep it pretty mellow toned since its from the Heresy, and just hidden in the Fang until we need it the most (hey, like AdMech could touch us. Can't fit your Titans in the Fang cogboys!). http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff178/JEFF4i017/Hroovitnir.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/167023-campaign-chapter-1/ Share on other sites
Grey Mage
So did you drop the 100 pts to make it BS 4, I didnt catch that part. And were they really outnumbered by a thousand points? The Defense Laser equalized it up pretty well, actually accomplishing the objectives would've been incredibly difficult if it hadn't been for a little luck on the Deep Strikes. And I'm running it as a Fellblade instead of a Baneblade, the Campaign Organizer was fine with it. Grey Mage
Well yes, as I recall theres an option that allows you to switch out one of the two sets of sponsons.... for targetters, and that makes it BS 4. I was wondering if that was what you meant by fellblade, or if it was just a baneblade by another name, or a set of houserules? Bell of Lost Souls Rules, 600 Points for BS4 but you keep the Lascannons. I didn't play today, it was 2v2. We lost in a match that would have been hard to win, but I went 2-1 in casual games, so I'm happy.
