This is scout assault squad Cestus.. the sergeant is a repaint, so its a little rough around the edges.

This is LSS shotgun squad Furion, split into two teams, obviously LSS arent available just yet, i painted them a little darker to make them stand out as "elites" amongst scouts..

What parts is Antilochus's body made from?

A standard space marine bike with bikers legs and right arm.

The main body is from a MK2 Vet model

The hand and hammer handle from a DA command squad power weapon

The hammer from a hammernator (it was originally right handed weapon, is now left)

The banner came with some MK 2 Vets i brought, im not sure which one it belongs to though

That is a pretty sharp looking army you got there...wouldn't mind make one like it myself. I like how everything is lined out and planned! Wish I had done that. I also like the nice variety you have with your scouts. Kudos!

If you were to add any new units in the future, might I suggest the following?

Sternguard(Vet marines??? Don't have the C:SM)

Ven. Dreadnaughts

You can do the whole "Old teaching the young" thing to bolster your AT capabilities!

Edit: Actually, forget the sternguard. I read your other post and command squad makes more sense!

I like what you have done, i have seen a few people do scout army's and although they dont have the armour save of a normal marine, the factor is that you can get more of them for the points and if you ask me, they look rock solid as a large group with back-up from bikes and landspeeders. Cant wait to see more.

i had some success at my local gaming club with an all scout army with results of 5/0/0 (w/d/l), i already knew that with the meta game, you could outfit a scout army to do well against most other armies, but i wasnt sure about an 'all comers scout force'

So to find out if they were competative enough i took the army to the 'Ultra meet' at GWHQ, and played some more competative lists, the results were about average 1/1/2 (w/d/l), with every game bar one loss being extremely close.

My recent game aginst an Ork horde was a draw also, at the end of turn 7 there were 5 scouts and 7 orks left on the board, it was a real meat grinder of a game!

I would say that scouts arent a tourney army, but can be competative to a point, but they are extremely fun!

Which is what 40k is supposed to be about.

Ill keep getting pics up when i get the chance, thanks for all the comments guys.

I have always questioned why the 10th company didn't have the ability to take all scout armour really.

i used to think this, but fluff wise, once they are full marines they get power armour, it goes hand in hand with being a space marine i guess. The contradiction to this is the scout sergeants, most of whom served with first or battle companies before becoming instructors, but i personally think they wear scout armour as a necessity.

As for captains its so rare for them to accompany scouts is not necessary for them to wear scout armour.

For those of you unfamiliar with my work, i wrote a profile for captain antilochus, which can be found here..
