Messing with Chaos - I'm Pointing At You...1/21/12

Well I've had some plastic Chaos Terminators since the Army box came out, and I've never messed around with them. This one I thought would look cool as a nurgle termi. Did a bit more base work like the other Nurgle one. The white putty is apoxie sculp so very durable, its certainly not cream cheese frosting. I think he turned out pretty cool, the head got moved from the other marine to the terminator, I think it looks better on the termie.

The tubes are fast becoming your trademark, PPC. ;) Agreed; this possessed head looks better on a termie. And what a nurgly termie it is. I like the fact that the nurglesque infestations are not overboard. The cream cheese frosting looks delicious. :)

looks very good indeed.

I have one question, how do you get the cirgles in the GS to be so smooth and round? is there a trick to it?

Thanks again for the kind words guys.

As to the nurgle circles, the primary tool I use is a ball stylus for the smaller circles. For the larger ones, I use the handle of small paintbrush.

Been awhile since I updated, got side tracked with a Bloodthirster project and some infernal greenskins. Sometime simple and subtle conversions can make things very different, this is one of those cases where you just put a little GS in the neck socket to accommodate a fantasy beastman head, rotate the sword arm and do a little ripped cloth, mixed with some other subtle parts and conversions and you get a figure that looks like we have below:

Since I built a beastmen army a long time ago I have a huge assortment of beastmen parts at my disposal.

Continuing the sometimes simple and subtle conversions can make things very different, here is another one where you do a head swap with a blood letter, rotate the bolt pistol arm and some other items and get a different looking figure:

A long time ago I built some chaos trolls for my beastmen army. I absolutely hated the models after I finished them, and they were quickly thrown out of the army.

When the spawn kit came out I built a couple and had all kinds of pieces left over and decided to strip the trolls down and see what I could do with them. The first turned out pretty cool.

This is the second one, chaos troll converted into chaos spawn. Now there was a bit of dremel work done grinding down a bunch a things, and a bit of GS work done to blend all of the parts to make a nasty looking bug. Now I really like the chaos trolls as chaos spawns, much better.

And another chaos spacemarine like the first couple of word bearer styled ones, no chaos warriors helmet on this one.

Several WIPs in this update, mostly what is on my table in various stages.

First up a Predator, I loved the movie, this thing has been on my desk for a couple years, so I decided its time to work on it a little bit. Not sure what I'll do for a weapon in the right hand yet.

And another incomplete movie icon in space marine armor, I'll let you figure it out, a No-Prize to the winner who guesses correctly.

I won't tell you which head it is. Also playing a bit with ProCreate on the Bloodletter, very nice putty.

Then some work on a nurgle marine, not sure what to do for a head at the moment:

I could cheat and steal the answer from another forum, but that wouldn't be fair. :P

I'll leave it for someone else to guess.

But....just have to say, that Predator makes me want to try and finish that conversion I tried years ago. Why must I be so easily tempted with projects! I have to try and stop visiting forums from now on, my workdesk just can't take it anymore!

Been away awhile, working on orcs, but back at building some chaos spacemarines. And Boba is back with me. Started this figure months ago, got buried on my desk, and I recently found it and thought I would finish him up.

It was a fun figure to build.

Wordbearers are probably my favorites, always lots of character, always lots of conversion possibilities, this is one of two of the latest ones, the other coming very soon:

For the GS pieces, I lay out a bit of putty on a plastic piece of film that the GS comes with. Wet the film, flatten out the putty, cut to shape, add the tears and then peel and apply to the mini. I actually add the wrinkles and folds and such on the miniature.

You mentioned that you were looking for a weapon to go in the predators hand. I would suggest that with the plasma pistol mount and lighting claws, I don't think it needs another weapon. I would suggest maybe a couple severed heads, held by the hair. It deffinitly seems like you have the green stuff skills for it.

Hey thanks for the compliments guys.

@faol: I believe its the Chaos Lt/Command Head, minus the horns. I haven't bought a new box of chaos in about 5 years though.

@nugz: I would agree with you there. I at first really hated that head on my chaos knights, so I decided early on not to use it, but I think it has lots a promise as a chaos space marine head, very freaky look.

@Damn: I thought about doing that or some skulls, but instead went with a spear. The next one will be different this was just the first of a few I think, need to get them out of my system. The finished predator inspired figure will be following shortly.

Next up another Wordbearer. The burst effect is from Armorcast, I believe, it was something I received in a gift bag from Adepticon.
