htj
Hello, I was flicking through the old 2nd ed Sisters of Battle codex last night and was reminded of the Tears of the Emperor wargear item. For those as don't remember, it was a phial of blood-like tears collected from weeping statues of the Emperor. I was considering writing up some house rules for it and I wondered if anyone else had some that they used. I will not let this wonderfully characterful bit of wargear die! Battle Captin Torodin
it could be used in a way like the inquisitorial mandidate is used, prehaps have it as a one use only item that can be 'revealed' once per game during any combat phase and any friendly model within 12" gets +1 attack in close combat as they feel their souls filled with ritousness? or something like that B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/167381-tears-of-the-emperor/#findComment-1972339 Share on other sites
htj
Hmm, interesting. I was thinking of something more grenade like, like the old wargear item, but I like the idea of it being talismanic too. Hmm. My original thoughts went something like this: Tears of the Emperor One per army. One use only. Fired like a weapon with the following profile. Range 6" Strength X AP - Assault 1 Blast Enemy models under the template take a wound on a 4+. Armour saves may be taken but cover and invulnerable saves may not. Or possibly the enemies are wounded on a faith test or something. Adrasdtos
I don't have the WH codex, so apologies if what I suggest is completely wrong or already exists: How about it letting you automatically pass a faith test once per game/providing a bonus to the faith test? Or perhaps it having a bonus to Ld? Although iirc, there's an item that already does that. The book of St. Lucius? If it does exist, a simple way would be to count it as that, simply representing it differently on the model. WookieeGunner
You might look at the Black Templar Holy Orb of Antioch for inspiration. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/167381-tears-of-the-emperor/#findComment-1973768 Share on other sites
