Hfran Morkai
The birth of Task Force Wolf Pack This is the fluff I'll use for my apoc battles. Fenrir Wulfheart’s Great Company was ordered by the Great Wolf to discover the reason for the loss of communication from the world of Chinchare. Upon exiting the warp, the Fist of Russ’ crew were astounded by the sheer number of wrecks locked in the planets orbit. There were no less than ten Imperial battleships and a score of Chaos ships broken into tiny fractions of their former glory. Wulfheart ordered his crew to try and gain communication planet side whilst ordering his men to the drop pods. After several minutes the communications officer was able to pick up a faint distress signal from the Governor’s palace. Unfortunately the signal was several months old and therefore of little tactical usage. Wulfheart ordered the astropath to send for aid whilst running to his drop pod. As soon as Wulfheart’s drop pod was closed, the invasion begun. Wulfheart had chosen a desolate plain for the drop site and the landing was unopposed. Upon securing a perimeter Wulfheart noticed movement in a huge nearby cave and ordered a pack of Grey Hunters to check it out. After several tense minutes the pack returned with a company of Imperial Guard in their trail. It turned out that this was the famous regiment “The Spears of Cadia.” They were in the area when the distress signal was sent and rushed to the aid of the planet. Unfortunately the number of enemies was too vast to confront in open warfare and the regiment had resorted to ambushes and precision raids with their Valkyrie and Vendetta strike craft. Also present was a super heavy company comprising of a Shadowsword and two Baneblades. Unfortunately these were also confined to the caves as their loss would be catastrophic. Wulfheart had a stroke of genius and ordered that the Cadians hastily prepare the cave system for heavy fighting. The plan was for a sortie of aircraft to attack a Chaos stronghold and draw the foe upon the gunline of the cave system. The plan was successful and enabled the destruction of a great part of a Chaos warhost. After several days Imperial forces entered orbit and begun a full scale offensive with the information provided by the Space Wolves. The taint of Chaos was quickly cleansed. Wulfheart was so impressed by the courage of captain Irongaze’s men that he offered the company a permanent basing upon his battle barge. The super heavy company was also offered the same honour and both readily accepted this unusual proposition. “The Spears of Cadia” renamed themselves “The Spears of Fenris” and the super heavy company renamed themselves “The Hammers of Russ”. These Imperial Guard are some of the only non Space Wolves who are allowed the honour of residing in the Fang. To this day all three companies function together and can deal with almost any threat. Long Fang
Well thought out fluffy goodness Mikal. I use a similar guard saved by wolves story for my guard but I haven't fleshed it out yet. Hfran Morkai
Cheers, considering I played with the idea for about a week and drew that up in about 20 minutes I'm happy with it and I like to explain the alliance as Guard do not normally follow Space Wolves like that. Next I'll create fluff for chaos!! (Not really) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/167586-some-apocalypse-fluff/#findComment-1977828 Share on other sites
