New WiP Chaos Sorcerer

Recommended Posts

Well, im back again with another set of WiP models i did up. This one is for the most part, the Chaos Sorcerer that Ive done up to lead the small war band im going to make up. He's about 85-95% done in the building phase, i still need need to put some GS ( though i terrified to do this, as ive never really ever worked with GS before >_> ) on the cape/wings to make it fit better together, and then maybe a few other minor details here and there...im not sure what else i want yet lol.

The second 'extra' part, is a model i did up based off of Saxxon the Dragoon's 'Powerfist' Rock band..more specifically the lead guitarist. I thought the way he did the model was so cool, i just had to make my own (the marine looks alot like his i know). The amp i did, was a complete pain in my ;) , and it never actually set straight...so from the top you can see its sort of shifted. But oh well lol. Hes far from done. Im going to be painting the guitar separate so i can get the chest details, etc on the marine. Eventually the guitar wire will connect to the guitar aswell, so it looks like hes plugged straight into the amp.

And heres a shot of the original design of the guitar, unfortunately i had to take off the thumb part of the rocker symbol because i couldnt fit it properly onto the marine. But i took a pic to show you guys anyways lol

@Chaplain Khârn - The wings are from the Flying Pegasus models in the Bretonnian Fantasy line. I had done an all cav. Bret a few years ago, so i just cannibalized one of them lol

@Maligoare - That is indeed the vibe i was aiming for! :P Im still working on the backstory for him though. I figured the Kroot head would be suit the 'bird-like' look i wanted for his face...that and it was the only bit i had that even came close to fitting what i wanted haha.

Small update, I did the GS work on the wing joints and in my opinion they didn't turn out half bad...for a first time working with. And as soon as i find a new camera cord ill give a few shots to show you guys.

Im without my laptop for awhile, as i had to send it in to get work done on it, so they wont be the best..but hey..somethings better than nothing ;D

Thanks Dejay, for the input  means alot. And Sir-DX, im not sure if a longer beak would look good on the Kroot head, atleast not with my gs skill anyways haha. Maybe if i seen some others that have done it, to compare it to i might be more willing to change it.

Yeah that could work...Ill have to give it a shot, see if i have some spare guitar wire sitting around. (im in the process of moving now..so i only got the bare necessities left out lol) Thanks for the input Cather

I did some GS beaks on a couple kroot heads...could came out better. But meh. lol. We'll see how well they come out after they dry and i can edit it abit more.

Of course ill take pics and upload em ASAP

If only my GS skill was that good haha. Thanks though!

Hey, would you guys think wrapping the wings in a bit of jewelers chain would look good? I did a dry run of it, and IMO it didn't look so bad...but i wanna see what you guys think.

As for pics, ill get them up Later today, as i get my Laptop back finally. :)

YAAAAY!! New pictures! Woo!

First up is the GS work on the wing joints.

Then those chains on the wings...tell me what you guys think. If its a go ahead type deal, they'll look better of course..but yeah.

Thanks guys for your comments on the heads and stuff :jaw: I think im going to go with the metal head i cannibalized, as it seems to fit better, and the GS beaked heads dont give the same look as i was wanting.

Im not sure yet what im going to do for the chains on the wings, whether to stiffen or not, as ive never really used jewelery chain on models before.

Also, to attach before prime and paint the chains, or leave them off till after painting, then attach...im so lost already :jaw:

The middle head may be worth considering from a different perspective. Painted correctly it would produce the appearance of a human head being transformed into a bird head. Would be characterful and also help the model stand out from all of the other bird-heroes out there.

I will admit, that middle head does look good too. Much better than the original 'kroot' head i had in it. Ill take a picture for you -Q- and post it (hopefully) tomorrow, after im done my move, and get everything settled and set up once again.

Thanks for your input aswell! :D
