Movie Space Marines Converting Project

Recommended Posts

Edit- I just added the latest to page 3. Edit- I did it again. The latest marine is towards the bottom of page 3

So, a while ago I started a project for Movie Marines. Anyone who knows the army list will know that it takes about ten movie marines to fight a 1500 point 40k army. Their stats are over the top, so I figured the minis ought to be over the top too.

So I decided to spend as much time and effort on these ten marines as one normally would a 1500-2000 point force.

Here are the greens:

And here's the sergeant. I did not get a picture of his green:

I'll be posting as I paint them up.

This looks promising. Their all loaded with equipment and bling, their all Ultramarines, the chapter of parading poster boys, and they all are posed like a character out of a action movie posing for his DVD cover shot. The perfect movie marines.

I do like this guy the best

Hm... this might be harder to remember than it should be. The core of the weapon is a flamer (I mounted it a little further forward in his hand than would be normal for a flamer). I cut off the little fuel can, and replaced it with the wires going to the heavy weapons backpack- I'm pretty sure that part came from the razorback lascannon.

The small power packs on the sides of the flamer come from an attack bike multimelta.

The scope on the top is just a bolter scope from the plastic space marine kit.

The bayonet is from a plastic skeleton set.

The small grey box is one of those bits that I could never figure out. It is either from an SM tank or bike kit, but I'm not sure what it was originally intended to be.

Movie Marines were a joke list from White Dwarf 300 (I think they were in the UK White Dwarf 301).

The idea was to present rules for Space Marines that match the "action movie" style of Space Marine fluff. You know, the kind of fluff where Marines don't have to eat, sleep or breath, where terminators can be stomped on by titans and get back up to keep fighting.

So, a ten man tactical squad with a rhino is a 1500 point army. I have around a 2000 point army here.

Here's the last of the greens. I guess I need to get painting now.

I keep forgetting where the that models head is. Chaos knight of some sort?

Anyways awesome minatures mate, I hope you play a game with these .

Warriors of Chaos, second row all the way to the right.

is.... is that marine wearing a Snuggie?

Oh, I can see that- especially in green stuff:

Thought I thought it looked like a hoodie (especially with the chain hanging from his neck).

Either way, I think he's kind of funny looking.

Wow this is epic. Are these true scaled or do they just look big naturally.

they aren't true scaled but they are lavishly upgraded and stand on taller and bigger bases

with fancy rounded edges which normal marines can't afford without move star sallaries :P
