Sicarius Rites of Battle

Ive done a search on this and only turned up threads that pertained to 4th and to if ROB still worked if the IC was in a transport.

Bearing in mind that I am at work and dont have the exact wording at hand.

Rites of battle essentially says that if Sicarius is in the army and alive, then all units use his leadership for Moral tests.

Now in the BRB is says that if a squad takes 25% shooting casualties, looses combat etc then they take a moral test using their leadership value.

Now the question is this. If they are now using Sicarius's leadership (who has not been shot/assaulted etc) do you still have to use modifiers?. The wording doesnt really say.

To me it would seem to imply that the effected squad would take modifiers to their own leadership value (as they are the ones being nailed) but since they are not using their own leadership it wouldn't count.

Any thoughts?

It was argued round and around in 4th edition along with the SoB book, but the issue was closed up with new writing. Thus:

"If Sicarius is on the table, all other Space Marine units can use his Leadership for any Morale or Pinning tests."

"Units that lose a close combat...taking this Morale Check suffer a -1 Ld modifier for each wound their side has lost the combat by."

So you start with Sicarius's Ld as a base, then still take negative modifiers as it doesn't say "-1 modifier to their Ld...", just to the one they happen to be using at the time. Maligoare had it right.
