He knows all powers as detailed on page 12 (C:DH) Independent Character: Unless accompanied by his retinue (see below) Raphael is an Independent Character and follows all of the rules for characters in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. If the retinue is destroyed, Raphael becomes an independent character again and is free to join other units The Price of failure: Grey Knights will never consider defeat and will never retreat. Any squad joined by Grand Master Raphael will count as scoring for the duration of time he is a member of their squad. Grand Master Raphael may be accompanied by a retinue as detailed on page 23 (C:DH) Hopefully he isn't to unbalanced, any opinions? Secondwind
Quick glance at my codex priced him near 300pts-ish. I presume your using official codex rules over the "fixing daemonhunters rules"? so I will only talk in regards to "official rules". He thus doesnt look to be really special, hes too similar to a regular grand master in actual play terms up until "The price of failure" special rule which is what alot of players already want from their GKTermies. Most of the psychic powers are redundant unless you are carrying a small library of consecrated scrolls as remember you can only use one psychic power per player turn and your force weapon special ability is a psychic power too! -Scourging - already got a stormbolter -word of the emperor? - if they want to assault your terminators then they are most likely going to be throwing in assault specialists which have ld8+ or cheap fodder which you should force to flee due to winning combat. -sanctuary- daemon only and very situational -destroy daemon- situational but slightly more useful than sanctuary, still giving up use of your force weapon slay outright however if you do use it vs a bigger beasty. He is certainly not imbalanced in my opinion just seems to lack that punch that makes me go oohh interesting, have a look at all the army lists in the forum and youll find 95% of GM's are at most with 45-50 points of wargear commonly consisting some mix of the following - sacred incense/ grimoire if thinking about chaos heavy, mastercraft, psycannon, psychic hood, hammer hand or holocaust. I personally only like using sacred incense as I'd rather save the points on an extra grey knight. ---------------------------------- Now as I said in Zebub's Grand Master Cantarro thread if your wanting to make a special character try and give your guy a focus, a theme and a catch which draws you in. He sounds like a powerful psyker who likes combat to me so maybe trim him 1-2 of the psychic powers which are more apt for his role, mix in a psychic hood, 1-2 consecrated scrolls and a nice hook rule to go with his fluff.
