Hfran Morkai
Hi I was wondering roughly how thin GW paints need to be to airbrush onto models. A ratio would be nice. Cheers!! Long Fang
While we're on such subjects, has anyone found a reliable mix for normal GW paints in the GW spray gun?? I wasted a whole pot of paint screwing around with it. ORKILL
It varies with color. I go for a slightly thicker than milk texture. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/168092-airbrushing-space-wolves/#findComment-1982824 Share on other sites

Bjorn the Fell-Handed
Im a very big fan of a bloke called Jawaballs; he has a Youtube channel, plays Blood Angels and in my opinion, is an excellent painter. I'd recommend sending him a line if you still have issues. Doc Faolan
5:1 Thinner to paint will give you a very bad wash. 1:1 is, in my experience a better rate, be it with the Vallejos or even the Citadel Foundations. Tamiya airbrush thinner works wonders. Avoid metholated spirits/etc though, they lead to drytipping (paint drying and building up on the needle) - use them only for cleaning the brush. Motion passed... 5:1 will be really ineffective in my experience. Between 1 and 1.5:1 seems to work for me. Airbrush thinners rather than any other kind is also the way forward Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/168092-airbrushing-space-wolves/#findComment-1984255 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
Cheers but slight problem, my airbrush doesn't work. The only thing I can think of is that the propellant does not enter the paint pot. Any help would be appreciated. The model is a badger 250 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/168092-airbrushing-space-wolves/#findComment-1984581 Share on other sites
